We had a nice meal of scallops and fried lobster. Our waitress did an admirable job considering she had several tables. I had ordered broccolini but is was not served. She made sure it wasn't on the bill so it was fine Muffins were considered a starter for $8 good but really. Noise is apparent but did not diminish the experience. Overall would recommend. Next time hopefully we try weekend brunch.

By George was rated #1 on Trip Advisor and I'm a big user. Menu had many creative selections to chose. Great wine list, great bar selections. Service was a bit slow and forgot one of our dessert items. I say it all the time, if the drinks were coming faster, we would have ordered more. Restaurant let us sit and chat which I greatly appreciate. Definitely worth another visit

You need to keep a certain number of tables available for hotel guests, who don't know that they need reservations. Also, the cost of breakfast is pretty high. $75 for breakfast for two people is ridiculous. But the service was great and the food was good.

We had the most amazing experience at By George last night. We chose BG bc of its menu and proximity to State Farm Arena (15 miniute walk). The dining and service experience was exceptional and all thanks to the Manager, Johnathan. They were short staffed and he jumped right in. He personally made my wife a cocktail to her “specifications” and he totally hit the mark. He also gave us the best recommendations (best cornbread we've had in a long time!) and all 6 of us were extremely happy with every single course. For apps we had Arugula, shaved Brussels and Cauliflower salad, House romaine salad (Caesar), Heirloom tomato & burrata and crispy Brussels were all excellent. For entrees we literally just did the Sole and the Rissotto (3 of each) and Johnathan recommended we added protein to the risotto which we did (scallops, blackened salmon and petite filet) and they all totally hit the mark. Fantastic. He also recommended the perfect wine pairing to accompany the sole. Our only regret was that we probably ate too much cornbread and left no room for dessert! Can't recommend this place enough. Beautiful hotel too! THANK YOU Johnathan for taking such good care of us (we're not sure why we're the lucky ones, or maybe everyone is lucky when Johnathan is working). We can't thank you enough for such a memorable experience from start to finish. We will definitely be back!!

My parents and I stayed at the Candler Hotel in Downtown Atlanta because of the location, after traveling all day we just wanted to eat dinner and go to sleep. By George is located inside the hotel so we only had to go downstairs but unfortunately we didn't know that hotel guests needed a reservation for a Saturday night; so when we went to eat we were told that it would be a 30 minute wait. I wish the hotel staff told us that hotel guests need a reservation when your checking in because we would of made one in advance. After having a drink in there extremely small "waiting room" we were seated and the meal was delicious. While it was expensive in my opinion, the food was good and service was even better. Please order the appetizer corn muffins they were delicious!
Our service was great, the food was sooo good and the atmosphere was elegant but not pretentious. If I have to say one negative thing, I didn't enjoy the bourbon old fashion I ordered but only because I like them sweeter. I would highly recommend By George.
Really one of the best food I've ever had at brunch particularly within an hotel establishment. I had the Candler with bacon and sausage and I got to taste my bf's smoked salmon bagel. Beautiful place, tasty food, service was good, and not insanely priced. It also helps that they had a saxophonist playing - he played so beautifully too. I'll definitely return and I've told my friends they've got to try it out.

We were greeted and the hostess took us to a table which wasn't that great but she quickly pivoted and took us to a great table. Server, Bria(sp?) was very knowledgeable and made some great suggestions on wine and meal choices. She even let one in our party know that the charcuterie board was meat only, cheeses were on the cheese board. Mussels, as an appetizer were an outstanding second choice. We chose the salmon, lemon sole and tempura lobster as dinner selections and all were outstanding. Our only ding was that the asparagus we ordered didn't come out, it was the broccolini which we specifically asked them to keep. The hollandaise was also a bit too spicy hot for my taste. Tasty, but too much. One of the highlights of the dining experience was the basket of cornbread muffins, get them! They were moist with a top crust that was INCREDIBLE! The topper to it all, was the tour of the vault where, by their account, was the original safe space for the highly prized Coca-Cola formula.

The restaurant is in the beautiful Candler building - the architecture is worth the visit alone. We were seated promptly, at our reservation time. My wife had the tempura fried lobster tail (ask the server to put the habanero glaze on the side or you might be sorry) and I had the filet. Both entrees were perfectly prepared. Our server was very attentive and timely. It was a very nice evening and we'll return.
Delicious dinner in the most beautiful building! The staff were all super friendly and attentive. The food was just.... WOW. I highly recommend trying the biscuits and the scallops!
The vibe of the restaurant was lively and the staff were friendly. Our food was delicious, we ordered the shrimp and grits with a side of bacon. My fiancée ordered a latte and when he wasn't satisfied with it the server brought him an extra shot of espresso and comped both from our bill without us asking them to.

The food was typical hotel food, slightly dry pasta and slightly flavored meat. The salmon was fine - and the vegetables were under seasoned. The waitress informed us that they could only do 1 dish gluten free, but we were told before we arrived that there were plenty of GF options. She told us the mashed potatoes had milk, and another dish had cheese - so were not GF. For this price, the wait staff should know what is/isn't gluten free. The dish still came with the mash potatoes, and was then taken back, and then she brought them BACK saying "oh they don't actually have gluten". She then took one plate whilst the other person was still eating.
I took my kids here on Valentines Day and had the best time. Everything was phenomenal. Great place for a date night or lunch with family and friends. Valet for your vehicle is very reasonable too. I will be back.

Our anniversary celebration at By George was an unforgettable experience, largely thanks to the exceptional service provided by Irish. She went above and beyond, ensuring every moment was special. The entire staff, including Irish, wished us well, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was outstanding, a delightful fusion of flavors. Overall, By George exceeded our expectations, making our special day truly memorable. We're grateful for the outstanding service and look forward to returning for future celebrations. Highly recommended for a remarkable dining experience.
James was our waiter last night and he was awesome! So friendly and knowledgeable about the food and he also had great recommendations. He gave us space to enjoy the food but was attentive. Great job! Thank you.
