Best brewery in Atlanta
Best Lagers in Atl!
Halfway Crooks is one of our favorite spots in Atlanta and was a dream location for our wedding. The team was simply fantastic! Everything was taken care of in the most proficient and professional way. Highly recommend working with the HC staff for all of your events.
I went there tonight and we got two hotdogs, truffle fries and two beers. About an hour later I got a notification on my credit card that I was charged $93!
I called and they said I left my tab open so they automatically charge a 20% tip.
You order your food through a QR code and pay with a credit card. Once you click pay, the tab should not stay open. If I wanted something else I would’ve ordered something else and clicked pay again. They know exactly what they’re doing with that racket and its bs. Almost $100 for two hotdogs and two beers. GTFOH.
Came in for the first time with a friend tonight. Very strange experience. I’ve been looking forward to living in the area and decided to try Halfway Crooks. Was having a great time on the rooftop entity. Took about 30 minutes for our food to arrive, but I didn’t mind because the vibe was nice.
As we were waiting, someone took a plant off our table and was weirdly hovering around us. I didn’t think too much of it because I knew they were closing relatively soon. (It was around 9pm on a Friday)
Our food finally arrived, but I noticed our drinks were not brought over. From what I think was a manager, we were told that they could not serve people who were intoxicated. I thought it was a joke at first. I had just ran three miles and my friend had just gotten out of work. I’m sure we didn’t look the greatest, but um…
The kid was serious. We thought it was really weird. They took the drinks off the check and we decided to get the food to go. We tipped them.
Needless to say, I will not be going back. Food looked great when it hit the table, but once I got back to my house, I didn’t even want it.
I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for 14 years and this was definitely in my top 5 weirdest experiences.
Pizza place in the area has a sweet person behind the till and was happy to give us a slice and a pbr. Made up for the experience at HC.
Just go.
Not only is this some of the best beer and food in Atlanta, I’d argue it’s some of the best German/Belgian style food in the country. Everything is so fresh and tasty. Beers taste like some of the best in Germany and the curry worst tastes like you’ll never eat another meal.
The atmosphere is great and so are the people. I’ll come back again and again and again
Very good beer, and wonderful atmosphere. If you don't like ipas this is the place. They only have one on tap. But they have a lot of other European styles. Also, if you're a cyclist, this is the place to be!!!
Very tasty Czech style brews!
Me and my family are staying in Atlanta for an event , decided to branch out and leave the air b&b for some dinner. The guy who greeted us, was awesome, although he did not refund me for any of my food I paid for a did not get, the one little kid wearing those ridiculous rain boots who had meth mouth decided he was in a position of feeling superior and decided to start talking to other staff member about me and my family which I could clearly tell he was, after numerous times of him walking by talking about us and giving us dirty looks, I decided to call him over to my table to ask what the issue was. The issue was with me and my families political views. Mind you as soon as I walked in I could tell everyone in the building was on the other end of the spectrum, which was fine wiry me and my family, we still walked in and treated everyone equally , but for some reason, that one member of staff had an issue with us. I have never went anywhere and been judged like that from the same people who claim we are the issue. That particular staff member really needs to do some self reflecting and fix himself. Needless to stay we went to the Mexican restaurant at the corner down the street and staff there was amazing!!!
I was left scratching my head after my dining experience at halfway crook. I didn’t try any of their beer so I can’t speak on that front but as far as food goes I think they have some major upgrades they need to do to their menu. We ordered the cheddar burger, the smokhaus burger and the curry wurst and I felt like the burger tasted like something I would order and get from a Friday night high school football game at the concession stand for $5. The burgers were small and lacked any depth of flavor. The toppings that came with each burger were also small and despite the menu saying the burger would contain some pink and be cooked medium well both of our burgers were overcooked and dry. The currywurst was better than the burger but still just ok. For the price point of the burgers I was expecting something far better than what we got but the food was unfortunately not satisfying.

Solid brewery! Every beer I tried was tasty, but nothing stood out as world class. The space itself has a good mojo. I like the channel that just shows sheep grazing (hope that’s a perpetual thing). Good tap list of primarily German beer styles. The second level is open to the elements and provides for a nice covered outdoor experience. The chili dog I ordered was very good, but close to $9, so the menu items are a bit on the pricier side. Overall, I like the brewery and the beer styles offered and will be back when the time is right.
Great beer selection! Though I have to say the true hidden gem is their homemade grain mustard! Could dip an old shoe in it and still taste spectacular!
Visited for the first time to watch England vs Slovakia. Loved the Biergarten. Very friendly staff. Food was good. The Czech beer was great. I’ll be back on a regular basis.
Great vibes!
Hi there,Raised in Germany and living in Atlanta… this isn’t German food. It’s not bad, but it isn’t German so my groups experience was colored by our expectations (The fries aren’t even yellow potatoes and the curry wurst is American bbq sauce with maybe a teaspoon of curry seasoning). The bratwurst was some sort of dense pork like sausage with neither a crisp to the skin or any flavor other than dense meat, but it could have been a bad batch or possibly over-cooked ?♀️The pretzel and beer cheese is legit tho, I’d order that any day of the week.We also ordered the Pintje (Belgium style Pilsner) and while not bad it also wasn’t “good” and we had no interest in finishing our $8 beers that were not akin to any German or Belgium beer I grew up with or drink when I visit on the regular. All in all we were very disappointed due to our expectations, but if you don’t really know what real German food is you’ll probably like it.
