Richard's Southern Fried is a small restaurant/stall that's located in the Krog Street Market. It's relatively small market, and if you are ordering food - just note that there is not enough places to sit and eat, which would be the only drawback. On our last visit in January, we went to Richard's Southern Fried - and it was so so good! Got a Hot Chicken Mac & Cheese with chives and cornbread crumbs. I have to say - it was the best Mac & Cheese I've ever had, and the chicken was to DIE-FOR! I still dream about this to this day! I will be visiting when things calm down again, probably after the pandemic. 5 stars for the food!

BEST pecan pie I have ever had! I fell in love a couple years ago and haven't had it for a year now because they rarely seem to have it there. But when they do, try it! It's SO good!

I'd visited Krog Street Market on a trip to Atlanta in late February, and since I hadn't yet scratched my Southern cuisine itch in the few days I was there, I decided to sit down at the counter of Richard's Southern Fried. I was between the chicken sandwich and the regular fried chicken, and chose the former based on the recommendation of the person at the register. I also got a side of mac and cheese. The order came up quickly, and although they were both good, I can't say I was completely blown away. I'm not sure I would stop by again on a future trip to KSM especially since there are so many other options, but it also wasn't bad by any means.

Long wait for food. Food came out cold and they gave me the wrong food. Didn’t offer to correct, just offered a sweet tea. Terrible service

Food was great. Love the hot chicken. Employees were excellent and engaged well with the customers.

I just watched people take advantage of my waiter. Anthony was more than accommodating. I appreciate a manager tolerating the situation, but more so I appreciate my cashier willing to talk to anyone about a situation that may seem "too long of a wait". Thank you Anthony and take you Richard's

Came at 2:00 PM on a Monday. Place was semi-busy and the food took about 15 minutes, as the cashier said it would. The chicken itself was juicy and tender, but I felt it lacked flavor. The jalapeno cream corn was excellent!

I've eaten here before and truly enjoyed it. I don't know what happened this tIme. I ordered the hot chicken and I'm thinking maybe they changed the recipe? I am not the biggest fan of dark meat. I'm well aware most disagree stating it not only has more flavor but also is also very moist. Well guess what...I still don't like it. That being said, even the breading on the sandwich didn't have much flavor. The chow chow was ok. I thought it was more finely cut up previously but that's not a big deal at all. The pimento cheese was barely there which stinks because that alone could've added more flavor. After the first bite. I should have politely returned it and asked for something else.

they changed the recipe since our last and the wings looked as if they are on steroids. no seasoning on the actual chicken.

Food Awesome , Chef Charmar in the kitchen is beyond talented. Always hits the spot. Mac and cheese, spicy chicken. And the potato wedges. Tasty!!!

Actually really good!! I’m happy with everything in the set - the chicken, the cornbread & the Brussels sprouts salad. The only downside was that it took wayyyy to long to get my order, even though it was only 430pm and not rush hour yet.

Yuck. My jumbo chicken wings were so tough! It was a struggle to break them apart or even bite a piece off. The breading didn't adhere to the chicken well. It kept coming off in big flakes, leaving me with naked chicken to eat. Black eyed pea salad was sweet, odd and not good. My husband got the jalapeño creamed corn and it just tasted like mayo and corn. His chicken sandwich was just ok. We got the collard pho and the liquid/broth was bland. We added salt but that didn't even save it. The cornbread that we ended up waiting 20min for was just boxed jiffy cornbread you can buy from Kroger for $1. We will definitely pass on this place the next time. Not sure how this place gets enough business to be able to afford a store front in Krog. Just remembering the chicken texture makes me nauseous.
