Nice place restaurant busy, lots of noise when having conversations. The food taste ok, the chicken was not a must-have as the server presented. Our food also did not come out hot or warm the plate was warm the food was room temperature. I had the Trout with add on chicken. They were ok not much seasoning as I would have expected from a southern restaurant. Beer was good. The fried green tomatoes were also good. Would only return for apps and drinks.

“SOUTHERN CLASSICS WITH A SOPHISTICATED SPIN"This was the restaurant I walked the length of Peachtree Street to get to and let me tell you, it was worth the effort. The food here was fabulous.I chose share plates so that my host and I could enjoy more than a one plate meal delivers. We had all the classics: pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes and fried chicken, finishing with the most iconic Southern dessert, banana pudding. While these are all standard Southern dishes, every one was elevated and beyond delicious.

First time in Atlanta, and boy did we get spoiled with some amazing food. FYI, when you want to know where to go... Uber drivers are great resources for good eating spots. That's how we found this place.Excellent experience from the start. It has a fun, lively atmosphere, especially indoors, and you can also be a little bit removed in the the outdoor patio (where we were).Firstly, the food - Incredible. You know you're going to get some rich food in the south, but here their ingredients are fresh and elevated. (By elevated, I don't mean They go crazy with fancy smoke or giving you 1 piece of okra with a butterfly's wing and call it art.... no no no, not here thank god)I mean that their Fried chicken is locally sourced, juicy as hell, and prepared with a lot of LOVE. I also recommend the Pork Belly App, Fried Green TOmatoes, and their Southern Caeser. And Secondly, The SERVICE - ACES!!! Kenya was the epitomy of southern charm and warm hospitality. She was engaging and actually cared (as opposed to plenty of CA joints where I live that ask with their heads down "whatdya want, Boss?").No, Kenya took us through the menu and helped us have a lovely Atlanta Experience. Drinks, apps, offered dessert (which we didn't save space for). I almost loved the service more than the food, but in all, it was an amazing experience, and I can't wait to go back again. Thank you for really seeing us and bringing honor and care to the service industry.... (written by an ex-server and wine specialist of 20 yrs)

I really want to love this place but I just was not impressed. The food was underwhelming. Service was pretty good overall but definitely overrated. I have had better fried chicken, greens and cornbread at home. Also tried the strawberry shortcake which is just biscuits whipped cream and strawberries.

The food was delicious. I absolutely recommend the fried chicken and fried tomatoes. The staff were very fast and efficient; we were never left waiting for long. Our server Jarren was very friendly and had great personality! He made the whole thing a great experience.

I was dining alone being in town on business, and the only options for singles are at the bar, or on the patio. It was a pleasant evening however so the patio was a nice option. My server Kenya made me feel at home immediately and did everything to make my visit great. After eves dropping on her menu descriptions for another table, I landed on Crab Cake appetizer, Fried Green Tomatoes and Fried Chicken for dinner. The crab cake was not short on real crab meat and retained the texture which I appreciated. Served with a nicely spicy aoli, greens and pickled vegetables it was a great start. The fried green tomatoes were truly the star of the evening. Tomato slices with a goat cheese filling inside a breading that was just thick enough to hold it together and fried to a delightful crispness....I honestly could have had those for dinner they were so delicious. The fried chicken was also perfectly crispy and not a hint of greasyness served on mashed potatoes and collard greens which were a perfect canvas for their house made hot sauce. I am not a chocolate dessert guy, but Kenya brought to my attention that the chocolate cake was made with milk chocolate instead of dark and it was a much lighter slice than you often see when everyone seems to be clinging to those flourless hockey picks.Bravo South City Kitchen! I hope to return when I'm back in Atlanta.

Good food for sure, I wasn't disappointed. I wouldn't call it the greatest place ever though. The cornbread was excellent and regular bread was falling apart with the slightest touch. The fried chicken was ok, but nothing special. For some reason it felt rubbery to me, so it was hard to cut and chew, and the flavor wasn't that great overall.Service was excellent. The place gets very loud and we had trouble speaking. It's also quite expensive I believe.

It’s been over 20 years since I was last at the Midtown SCK and it still delivers. The fried chicken and mashed potatoes with collard greens was flavorful and moist. And they brought me a side of shrimp and grits (my other favorite here) just to try again. Crisp shrimp and richly flavored grits. And my server was absolutely delightful. Great meal.
