Get the loaded potato salad. Actually, get everything. But especially the loaded potato salad. You can tell this restaurant cares about the details; from the in-house pickles to the rib mac and cheese and everything in between. Everything i ate surpassed my expectations and the staff were lovely.

Super friendly people at the counter, we were travelling for a concert and the one lady had great advice about the area. They even knew about the venue our concert was at, and warned us about the parking situation ahead of time.I digress, the people are great, but the food is really what will have you coming back over and over. I ate a chicken thigh sandwich, nice and juicy with a handmade grain mustard and caramelized onions to top it off. We also tried their spicy cheese curds, another big winner in my opinion. The seasoning blend they finished them off with had me wishing I ordered a second helping. Our sandwiches both came with a side of delightfully crunchy chips that also appeared to be homemade.Overall just a really pleasant experience, doesn't get too busy either which is nice (even though they deserve more business). The street that it's located on was also actually pretty quiet compared to other roads nearby. My only complaint is that my hands still smell like delicious smokey BBQ and there is none left for me to eat.

This hidden gem is phenomenal. Some of the best barbecue I’ve had in Atlanta. I’m my opinion the chicken shines. The rack of ribs are excellent as well. If you have a sweet tooth, the bread pudding is guaranteed to satisfy.

My rating in a word: EXCELLENT!Don't let the modest, walk-up, storefront fool you. BBQ Cafe serves QUALITY! Our visit was preceeded by my usual "make-or-break" phone inquiry: "Do you serve ribs sauced, or is the sauce on the side?" Once I was told that they use a dry rub, with sauce on the side, I placed an order & headed that way. My maiden voyage ;) The service was friendly & welcoming...and the ribs were DELICIOUS! The dry rub was perfectly balanced & flavorful. Since my visit, I've read that their desserts are also impressive. I'll DEF return & score some desserty deliciousness too! ???

Out with my beautiful granddaughter one day and we decided we wanted BBQ. Drove around for awhile looking for a place and spotted this one. It's a small shack where you order at a window, there is no "dine-in", but there is seating around the outside. Parking is sparse around the back though. The BBQ was delicious! Whatever rub they used was scrumptious, no need for the BBQ sauce AT ALL! The flavor is amazing. The service was friendly and inviting. Can't remember her name, but she allowed us to taste everything before we ordered. Their Brunswick stew was very tasty. Everything was great. HIGHLY recommend it and will definitely go back.

Wow! Give this BBQ Cafe a try! This restaurant is nestled in the city of Decatur. I had the bowl which consisted of potato salad, beans, pull pork with a slaw. It was so delicious! Also the ambiance is quaint and welcoming !The staff are helpful and also inviting. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this restaurant! Give it a try.

First things first, our server Saabirah was so lovely, she gave wonderful service and was a sweetie pie. kind and down to earth service makes a huge difference.NOW wow, just found this little spot that somehow hid from us for a few years! I got 2 meats (half chicken and pulled pork) as well as two sides (rib mac and potato salad), fried green tomatoes AND bread pudding. My boyfriend got rib tips, brisket, Mac and the corn salad. Everything was off the charts, incredibly flavorful. brisket was juicy and fell apart. it was actually cooked well (unlike other bbq joints in the avondale area ?). chicken was moist, but the skin was still where it needed to be and crisp PLUS HELD THROUGH WITH THAT PERFECT SMOKED FLAVOR. I'm a huge stickler for my sides (as well as the meats but... sides are a big deal to me) and all of them were delicious, and tasted like comfort and home. now don't even get me started on that bread pudding because I WILL get inappropriate. so good lol.

We needed a brisket for a party and one of my friends suggested trying BBQ cafe. This is by far the best brisket I’ve had! Great flavor and perfectly smoked. Highly recommend!

The food was really good. I really enjoyed the Mississippi style barbecue and sides. The staff is very knowledgeable about food allergies and many of their items are gluten and dairy free. Thank you so much for excellent food at a great price.Dietary restrictions: All the meats are good to go for gluten and dairy free and many of the sides are as well. The staff is very knowledgeable when it comes to food allergies.Parking: There are a few places back behind the restaurant that you can park which is convenient and this very busy area.

Got a rib plate to go. The meat was so tender and smoky, so good! The sauce had this really yummy fresh cracked black pepperiness I really enjoyed. Got the potato salad and rib mac n cheese, generous enough that I split it into 2 meals. Loved the bread pudding but I'll have to get the housemade ice cream next time! Service was super friendly, just about a 10 minute wait, and bonus that it's next to my favorite coffee shop, I'll def be back!

I was disappointed for the amount of money. The fried green tomatoes could have been larger for the cost and told that the sauce was hot hot hot. Coleslaw had no taste. The bbq was okay. Nothing to brag about. Yep this was my 1st visit and won't try again, but thanks for the experience.

'Sip BBQ is MISSISSIN' the mark. Our family likes to start off with the basics + a side. If you can pull off the simple, we look to tastings your master courses.Well this little Cafe put more lipstick on the pig than actual flavor. Only one item had flavor, but it was so (spicy) HOT it blew the pallet. So the basic Pulled Pork Sandwich, should have crispy pickles, this had flaccid gherkins. Perhaps a sweet OR tangy slaw, this provided well shredded cabbage with balance of Mayo, salt and pepper that magically tastes like nothing. It was an opener. The PORK, while juicy sat upon a once fresh bun but you could tell it was at least 3days past its due and then toasted so the top was stale and the warmed part was like eating thin card stock. And the sauce, ketchup with some added vinegar is only going to get you so far. We gave you a star for the mini fried green tomatoes, but you must adjust the sauce. As cute as this Cafe de BBQ is .. maybe put more FOOT in the food than on the ladder. Not a spot I will return to soon.

Food was amazing and creative flavoring. The customer service was top notch. Well worth the hour drive here. Will definitely be returning.

This gem of a BBQ stand sits in a great spot - Downtown Decatur! They are the most creative BBQ restaurant in town, constantly experimenting with new ideas and combinations. They had a red velvet cake ice cream a couple weeks ago. Of course, their banana pudding is on point. In fact, their desserts are so good, I've seen Kimball House customers leave after their $200+ dinner and cross the street for dessert at BBQ Cafe! The fried green tomatos are fresh and the cayenne? mayonnaise they serve with them is the spiciest mayo I've ever had! My nephew and his wife rave about their fried cheese curds. Oh right, you wanted to know about the BBQ! It's really good and the prices are extremely fair. In fact, it's easily the best BBQ in downtown Decatur! Give them a try!
