Great food, lousy service. Here’s a pick of our waitress reading the newspaper.

I had lunch there last with with a foodie friend of mine, who raves about this place. It was very good. The food was very tasty, freshly prepared, and reasonably priced. I would definitely return.

Out of the way restaurant in an industrial area. Reputedly it is the best in Atlanta in its category. The eggplant in garlic sauce was spectacular as were some other dishes but several were much too hot for us.

Our group of seven ordered different entree and we shared on lazy Susan table. Overall it was ok but not worth a return visit.

This may be a small unassuming restaurant in a small shopping center on Buford Hwy near Pleasant Hill Rd in Duluth, but don't let the setting deceive you. Inside this bustling family owned simply decorated restaurant, many families were already seated while there was a steady stream of repeat customers who seemed to know the owners. The son of the restaurant who greeted us was very friendly and he answered all of our questions while making some suggestions which we appreciated. The menu has an extensive variety of szechuan dishes and there are also "American" chinese choices near the back of the menu for people who may prefer less spicy dishes. We ordered the szechuan dishes which were excellent. The fish filet hotpot was not the common spicy boiled fish red doubanjiang colored broth hotpot but rather the dry hotpot (ma la xiang guo) with lotus, celery, wood ears, szechuan peppercorns and red peppers. This was delicious, fragrant with layers of flavor. I would recommend this and it seemed that most diners this evening ordered this dish. We also had the stuffed eggplant which we would order again; these were slices of eggplant stuffed with pork coated, deep fried then added to mildly spicy bean sauce. The cumin lamb, fried green beans were also good. If you like bitter melon, they made a simple and flavorful bitter melon dish. Service was quick. Food was very good. Just a few comments. This seems like a word of mouth restaurant hidden gem like a previous review mentioned. We will return. The fact that Xin's has a loyal following despite not having a website and having another restaurant that has garnered so many reviews next door speaks for itself. If the menu had descriptions of the entrees, it could be easier to navigate the extensive menu and to even try hidden gems within the menu.
Very good food. Nice people.
