Food Was great but what made it even better was the personality of Braydon who was in the window & on the speaker. So if your in woodstock go thru that one and hopefully he'll be as pleasant and funny as he was with me. Great higher don't get rid of him!
Steak n Shake has really regressed in recent years. First, upon entering, you are instructed to place order via kiosk. ( no human interaction). After placing order (which you do all the work), it gives a prompt to leave a tip. Second, there are no longer servers at all. Place your order, then wait for your name to be called. An employee calls 2 or 3 names, puts all the food on the counter with nothing to let customers know who's food is who's. Finally you have to use a QR code for the drink machine to work. Again no instructions given. In the past, we've enjoyed the experience and the food, but not sure if we'll return.

Food is good, and the shake is great. The only thing is, they forgot to put fried onion on my BBQ cheese burger with bacon, also the chili cheese fries can do better

Zero human interaction, kiosk ordering and QR code for drinks. Terrible experience to how things used to be very disappointing. Employees literally hiding in the back, you have to raise your voice and swing your arms to get their attention. Told them they were out of sweet tea, they never made a batch so they had to handle every refill I needed, (see first comment). Fries were soggy, Frisco melt bread was good, patties were not smashed and cooked crispy like they used to be, good amount of cheese on fries. Tables were dirty, floors were dirty, and bathrooms were appalling. I will not be back. Shame on the owner or corporate that decided THIS was the way the business needed to operate; might as well shut it down.

The drive thru at this location is possibly the slowest and worst service I’ve ever experienced. The food is great once you get it - but be prepared to wait 30 min even if there aren’t many people in line.

Had to wait almost 20 mins for 2 hamburgers and a bacon cheese sandwich with no bacon half filled shakes they must can not keep hired help! Very poorly run never again will I come back ! 40.00 and they want a tip up front ! Used to be my favorite place to eat ! Everything was cold when we got it and it was freezing in the dinning room

This was the worst "dining" experience ever! The restaurant was filthy and the garbage cans were literally overflowing. The chairs are falling apart, as well as Mt shake cup, which leaked from the bottom like an 89 year old man. You have to scan a QR code to get a drink, leading to a no free refill policy. The chicken tenders were drenched in grease, and the iconic seasoning was completely absent from the new "tallow" fries. The napkin dispenser was just about empty, the entire dining area was covered in a nice thin coat of grime and most of the tables were never cleaned. The clientele (apart from me) was ugly and fat, aesthetics first people! The bathroom was a mess, both hand soap dispensers were empty, and the only alternative was a bath and body works hand soap that was also nearly empty. The floor was covered in paper towels and the toilet bowls were dirty. Never go here unless you want a skin rash.

First off, milkshakes are great! Thick and delicious. Food is pretty good especially considering the price. Great value!
The worst aspects are how everything is set up at the restaurant. They have electronic kiosks to order but I don't really mind. The service was very slow. About 45 minutes to get our food albeit on a Sunday afternoon. I don't blame the workers though. They were working hard but they seem understaffed. I didn't order a soda but you had to scan to use it which I haven't seen before. Seems to be quite inconvenient. I get it though. With how they are priced, they probably have to keep a very close watch on their margins. The way orders are dropped off is quite confusing too. They were shouting out names. With the music and the chatter of the other customers, it is very hard to hear/figure out if an order is yours or not. They gave us order numbers with our receipts, why not use that much less ambiguous call-out instead of a name (considering my very common name causing additional confusion). A paper with the order indicating the name or order number would be great too. A electriconic board with "Now Serving" order would be the best.
Overall, worth a visit if you have the time to spare and want a good value meal. I think if they figure a few of these operational issues and speed up their time getting the food to you, this would be a 5 star review.

They cannot get a burger right. My order is consistently messed up at this location yet this time, I was requested to come inside the store to get a remade burger when I was low on time. Then, the cook claimed that my burger was made properly and requested to see my burger. Good food only when made properly.
