Excellent meal at one of Roy's establishments in Waikiki. Greeted and seated quickly. Started off with complimentary seasoned edamame; yum. Next, kale salad was delicious and generously portioned. Main was grilled Mahi Mahi, oden vegetables, ginger/serrano pepper sauce, and rice. Fish was tender, juicy. Sauce was exceptional; just right amount of ginger and heat. Rice was fluffy, not sticky. Veggies were delicious. Cheesecake for dessert was OMG good. Will definitely return to this or any of Roy's restaurants in the future and highly recommended, even if it is out of the way.

The food was HORRIBLE. The salmon sauce was too salty and the chicken was semi-cooked. You'd think the price would match the food quality. The service was good though.

Excellent service and staff. Food keeps bringing us back again and again. Love the bao buns and Mongolian ribs. Can't forget the Pineapple martini, my absolute favorite drink!!!!

Kampachi Crudo was melt in your mouth outstanding. Our table of 4 also had Butterfish Kamameshi, Plantation style Paella rice stew, Tender Beef shortribs, and Mahi Mahi wth ginger scallion soy sauce. Everything was very tasty and memorable.

Another great experience at Roy's Eating House. I always have to get the ribs; no matter what else I want, those ribs are addicting and consistently prepared. The burrata salad, while a very popular dish at many restaurants, is OUTSTANDING here. This is a "real" burrata; not just a mozza ball. So creamy and fresh on a bed of fresh greens and beets. I always do ask for the dressing on the side because for my taste, it is too sweet and so I use very sparingly. It is delicious; I just don't want too much of it on my fresh ingredients. The brussel sprouts are great but may be too salty for some. Great wine list; and desserts that I rarely have room for, but one should experience the lava cake which does have to be ordered about a half hour in advance. I recommend sharing it; it is so delectably rich. Last, but not least, is the service at this venue. Every staff member is so friendly, genuine, and knowledgeable about the menu. You never have to look around to get someone's attention, they keep a watchful eye to make sure guests are responded to as soon as possible. The lanai area is so enjoyable and has side curtains and closing louvered roof to accommodate should the weather become windy or rainy. This is the PERFECT spot in every way.

Overall it was an amazing dining experience. The food was amazing and came out in a timely manner. Our server was so kind and attentive. She always made sure to check in with us and overall was just cheerful and fun to have.

I am vegan and my friend is vegetarian. Our server was kind, and considered our dietary restrictions. He knew the menu and was able to swap our ingredients to meet our needs. Our food was extremely delicious.Dietary restrictions: Cross confirmation was an issue. Coconut milk used instead of whole milk. Olive oil instead of butter.

Wonderful staff complimented the delicious food at Eating House. It has been awhile since the service matched or surpassed the quality of the food and Eating House met my high expectations. Food was quite delicious, used high-quality ingredients, and was executed well.

Just another average restaurant. Attention really excelent, appreciate they took care on giving us a gift for our 50yrs birthsday. Ambient really noisy, we asked to change table since we couldnt hear each other with people literally screaming next to us. Good coktails, salty food. Overall, overevaluate and too much marketing, were expecting much more or at least a peaceful place, not a pub ambient. Hope this comment helps to increase level of restaurant.

An excellent dining experience in every way. The spring rolls and short rib appetizers were both outstanding. The chef is a sauce master! Our party of 4 each had a different entree and they were all fantastic. Fresh seafood and bright flavors. Add a great bottle of wine from a thoughtful wine list and we were very happy foodies! Excellent service too!

Excellent service and great food. There's the option of choosing the type of sauce you want and the way to cook it for the fish. The chocolate soufflé was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside - delicious. You'll enjoy Roy's style of cooking.

Stopped by for an early dinner while on staycation. We took advantage of the happy hour and enjoyed the food and friendly service. We were able to relax, talk and drink at a comfortable and cozy table. Looking forward to our next visit.

We had a group of 8, one with a very restrictive diet and they were able to more than accommodate us. Our waiter was patient and very helpful, and the rest of the wait staff extremely attentive. The manager stopped by our table and was so friendly as well. Our meal was divine and the chocolate soufflé we highly recommend. Wonderful night out in Waikiki.

Must admit - we went there because of a BOGO entree coupon, but absolutely do not regret it and will definitely go back for brunch! The service by the bartender left absolutely nothing to be desired! She was knowledgeable and friendly and was perfect between providing excellent service and not hovering at the table. The food was tasty and the portions were large. Other than traveling into Waikiki, parking is easy and the ambiance at Eating House 1849 was great --- brunch was relaxed and delicious and the people watching was fun!
