I enjoyed a Happy Hour Pinot with the Ahi Poke Bowl - ample and delicious. As the crowd increased I marveled at the calm interaction between the diminished-to-just-two staff members - who kept the vibe in the busy room relaxed and happy - despite the large trays of drinks and food being distributed. As my peers joined me at the bar we ordered a beautiful Kalbi Beef platter to share. There are many eateries within walking distance from Executive Centre, but why go anywhere when you can dine in style at Hukilau - just an elevator away from sleepy time.
Went to have dinner at this location and the doors are locked. I asked the hotel staff about it and they indicated that it’s permanently closed.
Even though the menu seems to go through another round of change and without Chef Takemura, the food is still good, with gigantic salads and a good variety of Hawaiian food. Stuck to the salads. Had a unique ginger chicken salad, which was sliced cold chicken breasts on a bed of lettuce and vegetables topped with the cold ginger you see on cold ginger chicken. Unique and not bad. Service is very good. Wierd thing is that they have these super-wide tables so you seem like you are sitting so far away from your guests across from you. Check the chalkboard before you enter for the specials because you won't remember the server going over each of them.
Amazing staff, great company and hidden gems when karaoke hits back on. The food is delicious .

Savory Laulau Stew packed with meat and potatoes.
The Laulau stew i had today was the best thing I've eaten all apocalypse. Thank you Hukilau!!
Great food, great people, laid back atmosphere.
Outstanding service. Checked into my room and was hungry from my flight. Sat down and was treated like family from the get go!

Nice secluded spot under the complex with Longs and Ross. Air conditioning to beat the afternoon heat and while the menu was limited the food was really good. I had a combo poke and laulau stew plate. The fish tasted very fresh and the laulau stew was something new but very tasty. They have a bunch of TVs on the walls showing the NFL network so it would be a great place to watch a game.
Went here to see my friend's band play...great ambiance and vibe...the kalua pork sliders were great and the French fries were excellent...right out of the fryer. I will be back!I also asked the server if she could turn off one of the lights because of the glare on the TV and she said okay, but never got to it. The server also said they accepted UH alumni discount but the other server said they didn't when it mattered--when it was time to pay.
Great food, great environment. The owner is really kind and helpful. I highly recommend it.
Hidden tiki bar under downtown Honolulu. No cell service, get away from the office at lunch.
Check out their daily specials--the owners have an amazing palate and have a such unique and delicious ways of combining flavours. Laulau stew is great, and their cold ginger chicken salad is so refreshing on a hot day.
