Fabulous!!! Our waitress, Allison, delivered exceptional service with her warm smile and disposition. She anticipated our needs and totally met our expectations of what excellent service should be. Our appetizer, entree, and sides were spectacular. I have never tasted a fish so fresh, sweet, and flaky. Absolutely delicious. Thank you Mahina and Sun's for a great experience!
Restaurant week menu was very generous! The ribeye steak was prepared perfectly- tender, tasty, moist. We enjoyed he'e appetizer and agree it deserves to be their popular standout appetizer. Our waitress was kind, efficient, upbeat and added to a delightful evening.
Exceptional, Hawaiian inspired menu. Wonderful flavors and kindhearted service. Will recommend to all who come to Honolulu.
Always a favorite spot for us to come back to when we are in Hawaii. Our favorite meal is the family dinner with the deep fried whole fish. It's awesome, fried so crispy that you can even eat the fins which is the best part. The crudo is phenomenal, order extra of this, is worth it. We tried the fried pickles this time and was surprised how good they were. Will be back again next time we are in Hawaii!!!
Delicious food and excellent service (shout out to Allison) at Mahina & Suns in the Surfjack Hotel in Waikiki! We enjoyed the hand-cut pasta Bolognese and the crab risotto, and the care with which my side of asparagus was prepared was nothing short of perfection. (It's the little things in life!) Love the bartender's riff on an Old Fashioned, too. It's a must-do for us every time we're in Waikiki.
We visited this restaurant based on a Time Out recommendation. We had booked but were seated in a lobby area outside of the main restaurant & with no AC. The waitress was super friendly & nice but did not know a huge amount about the menu or drinks. I really enjoyed my Ahi main. This was supposed to be one of the best places to eat in Waikiki but I left a little disappointed & felt it was expensive for what we had.
This place is lovely. Prompt, friendly service, and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the shrimp hush puppies and the seared ahi. I also really enjoyed the banana pudding for dessert. It was refreshing without being overly sweet. The atmosphere is great around the outside pool area, but I can see the potential for noise when things are busier. Highly recommend, though.
Honestly so surprised this place wasn't busy. It was easily the best food we had in Waikiki. The octopus and hamachi crudo were amazing. Their cocktails are standout as well. My only suggestion would be the volume of the pool music- was very loud but ended up being turned down.
We went to Mahina and Sun's for dinner and was amazing, we took some drinks a lot o food family style. The whole fried fish was my favorite.!! If you want to have fun with friends get some drinks and eat delicious food this is the place.!
Every dish we ordered at our table was delicious. Highly recommended purchasing the Off The Hook dish. Great time!

This was our 36th Anniversary dinner. We had an awesome experience here. Our food was delicious and our service was outstanding. Thank you
It's was a frustrating experience. The service tried her best to be nice however she didn't have any idea on what she was doing. Also, the food description didn't match with the actual food. Be aware of the “banana pudding”. Totally a disaster. Cold banana slices with whipped cream on top!
We came here for our anniversary dinner during our Waikiki trip. The place was empty on a Monday night at 5:30pm. When we ask for the family feast and if our 3 year old toddler would count for the courses, we were met with “it's today not available”. It was one major reason why we went there, the rest of the items on the menu are just “meh”. Our toddler ended up with a totally overpriced pizza Margherita, I had swordfish, which I admit was good, but again, for the size of the fish completely overpriced. Wife did not want to eat any of the food items on the menu. Overall, very disappointing affair.
Best restaurant I've eaten in, in Waikiki for a long time. Great food, ambience and service. Comparable to Mud, Hen, Water and Pig and the Lady. Creative, whimsical and delicious!
This was not our best visit. The service was a little flaky with the team putting in a wrong order and then unable to split a bill. The first pizza we got was wrong and the replacement had almost no cheese and no basil. The fish was not as seasoned as it should be. Overall, a disappointment from previous visits.
