I was hoping for a good outcome as it was our first time giving this place a run on a birria crave but highly disappointed. To preface, I don't mind spending $ especially with inflation for a good meal however I felt incredibly robbed out of $55. Deconstructed birria is as horrible of an idea as it sounded but we decided to give it a go. For flimsy cheese in a corn tortilla, 8 small pieces of beef and a small container of onions + cilantro, it is nowhere near the $21 that it costs. I've gotten more for less elsewhere. It should either be birria or none at all. Not work to put one together. It made zero sense. Shrimp burrito was bland, didn't taste any garlic. Carnitas tacos just the same. I wish I could give this a better review but sadly we will not be returning. I gave 2 stars because the hostess was very sweet + kind which is hard to come across these days.
Some of the best mexican food I've had on the Island of Oahu. The service was great, and very attentive to us with their welcoming energy, and the ambiance was great as well! Outdoor seating had live music and inside was totally different with a more familial vibe. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting the island and in the mood for some Mexican food.
Excellent service, immediately greeted. Staff worked collectively making sure guests were taken care of. It was Taco Tuesday so we ordered two sets, one carne asada and one carnita (total six tacos). Very filling and delicious! Also ordered their chicken mole enchiladas, which had more of a hint of raisin than I am used to but! It was delicious and filling as well :) I wish I had taken some pictures but I was just ready to eat!
Simply stellar service and delectable authentic Mexican food! They had nopales, shrimp cocktail, tacos, and breakfast burrito de machaca to name a few. An observation we made was that even though the place was busy, the staff members were attentive, amiable, professional and efficient. This is a hidden gem and we are glad we found it. Our place to go to! Thank you Paco’s Tacos me encanto su sazon!
Normally the taco place is pretty decent, alil high on price but food is good. Now the other night I ordered taco salads to go and when we looked at them the shells were burnt not darker then normal but burnt and tasted burnt. So the next day i talked to the owner and after expressing my dissatisfaction he shrugged it off and as if I was picking something up. I ask could I be compensated for it and he said makes the tacos and if they are darker then pretty much oh well. I asked would he give it to his family and he looked at me with a blank stare then said he'd make me 1 and that's it. Oh and I had ordered 3 before plus burritos Bill was about 100$. Basically if you wouldn't feed your family or to people dining in, why is it ok to give people who choose carry out the burnt and nasty food????
Paco’s is definitely not a destination spot for me. Located in a small mall parking can be very challenging at times, but parking is a challenge everywhere so you just have to deal with it. The best part of my visit was the service. Some of the best service I experienced in a long time! I ordered a Carne Asada burrito which arrived much faster than I expected. The beef inside the burrito was cut perfectly. The three star rating was because the beef was almost like chewing rubber. When you did manage to chew the meet it was very stringy. So in the end it was the quality of the beef that turned my visit into once was nice but not sure I’m going back again situation.
Very disappointed!!! Read the reviews convinced my sister and family let's try it .Worse Mexican food we've ever had!!
Ordered carne asada enchilada. Meat was burnt. They should never serve things burnt leaving a bad taste to the customers. I've given this restaurant a 2nd chance to prove themselves better from my 1st bad experience n they blew their chances. Never going back as there are lots of other Mexican place to enjoy. Server was nice tho.
One of the more authentic (taste to us) Mexican food in Hawaii. Food is good, price is decent, not a place to watch football. We had 2 drinks, 2 burritos, and 2 orders of chips and salsa. 1st chips and salsa is complimentary, 2nd is $4.Outdoor seating available
Everything was okay, feels more like a tourist spot for drinks. The fried ice cream was the worst I ever had in my life, the crust tasted old. And I had many fried ice cream this wasn't it sorry.
Tried ordering take out online on my way home from work, but there was no option to pay. Tried calling, but recording says to order online. Ended up stopping in to place my takeout order. The gentleman said their online ordering is not working and needs to be fixed. Order didn't take long as the restaurant was pretty empty. Taste wise, everyone enjoyed their food. Portions were not huge, but I still have half of my chicken mole enchiladas left for lunch tomorrow. Really enjoyed my dish as the mole sauce was well executed. There are no complimentary chips and salsa, but a generous amount of chips are included with a small container of salsa for $4. The salsa had good flavor, but is very "watery" in texture. FYI the churros are thin and donut like in texture. There are about eight various sized "sticks" per order. The one person who ordered a horchata said it wasn't the best as it is reminiscent of powdered milk. Some of the specials are dine in only. Breakfast is served all day. Pancakes are only at their Poipu location. Restaurant is clean and spacious.
Good delicious and authentic Mexican food at a ready price in your area; what more could you ask for? The service was great and food was good. Plenty of options and places to sit inside and outside. There is a shared parking lot that you may have to park two rows away but not bad walking distance.
I'm a suckered for Mexican food raised on it. When it comes to Mexican food I'm very picky. The wife n I came her for the first time for a quick bit,n enjoyed the quite time there. It wasn't crowded at all so that was great. Now on their food, I had their pork chimichunga plate with Mexican rice n refride beans top with cheese. Great combo with great flavor. Nice selection of beers n hards n mixes. Great customer service n very polite workers. I'll go back to try something different as I always do for the first couple of rounds. The beans n rice is one of my favorite to eat a meal with. Remind me of grandma cooking Will be back again when I don't want to cook
Very cute very quaint spot in Kapolei. Though I must say it really gave me a Tex-Mex spot in Kauai kind of vibes. Lol nothing bad...just a bit more touristy? (We even got drinks like tourists on vacay lol) But then again we ate outside. When we walked through to leave we did notice all the locals on the inside eating. We took what we could get when we walked in which was outside. Service and food was wonderful - huge portions. I was able to get cactus tacos (canned cactus but at least it was vegan option and something different). The food was a bit slow to come - but staff was attentive the whole time and it was a busy Friday night. Would I do it again...that is an absolute yes if that is the mood I was in.
We love this place, great service, staff and owner are pretty AWESOME... My husband had the Shrimp Diabla which he LOVED I too loved my dish, chicken enchilada in a mole sauce "Tony's grandma's recipe" , it was delish Jennie and Jennifer both had taco salad with chicken which I have tried before and absolutely ENJOYED ... They have great drinks, even greater service and Tony, he's a doll
