Worst shave ice I've ever had. Very watered down flavor. Such a shame because there is so much potential to be better. C'mon Disney. Step up your game. This is robbery!

The Mickey ear shaved ice was super cute but was as a shaved ice lover, this just didn't make the cut. Got this to enjoy pool side and paid extra for the mickey ears. I didn't even finish half and this was with my uncle trying to shovel ice into his mouth before it became a pool of syrup. The shaved ice flavors were ok but the actual ice was so crunchy. The ice cream at the bottom was also kind of strange. I didn't think it was worth the money for the actual taste, but I had to get it for the picture and it made a great iconic Aulani photo. Definitely didn't bother to get it again.

I don’t get the hype about shave ice.. it is just crushed ice with artificial flavoured syrup - not my taste and way too expensive for the quality you get.

Papalua Shave Ice is on Disney Aulani's property near their pool area. We kept saying we would get shave ice, but the line was always very long since it was nice and warm out. They had a pool entertainment show for the kids. Very engaging and fun for the kids around - great job Aulani with the fun ambiance! We took advantage of this opportunity and went for our shave ice. The line wasn't too bad. We waited about 10mins in line. We placed our order at the cashier and after you place your order, you continue to follow the line to pick up your shave ice. We ordered the #3 which was shave ice with three flavors and vanilla ice cream at the bottom. They ask you if you want Mickey ears or not. Which is an extra $1. Service was good. Quick and easy. And as expected, it has the Disney magical experience!

The Mikey Mouse shaved ice was a great idea and was actually pretty cool to see in person. The flavor was delicious, and the ice was soft crunchy. The only issue was that not all Mickey Ears would come out great looking.

You can order three flavors and add: sweetened condensed milk, ice cream, and/or Mickey ears. I ordered strawberry, guava, and mango and added Mickey ears. You pay and then move to the window where you tell them your flavors. Large size portion that can be split between two adults. Kids can for sure share, but what kid wants to share a sweet treat? Splurge and get everyone their own!

This is the primary Hawaiian shave ice location at the resort. It is located right in the middle amongst the pool and water rides. The ice itself was fine. There are a good amount of syrup options. Personally it isn't my favorite thing, but it's worth a try if you haven't had it before.

If staying at Aulani, this is a must do. Honestly, price is pretty good even if you weren't at a hotel. The flavor range is good and who doesn't want Mickey ears on their shave ice?
Not sure when this place went downhill, but I always remember the ice cream at the bottom being creamy and marrying well with the shaved ice. I spent my time trying to break down the seemingly once melted "ice cream" that must have been re-frozen. The ice cream was crystalized. I hate to complain, but I had to get to the bottom of it. The gal at the counter told me that they freeze the ice cream at the bottom of the bowl and it is what it is. The "ice cream" was literally just frozen milk. Yellow and translucent. Just ruined my whole experience. We come to Aulani annually, and I always look forward to the Shave Ice. Sadly, not any more.

The shave ice was huge and enough for 3 people to share. I paid $1 extra for them to make it into a Mickey shape, but worth it for sheer cuteness. There are better shave ice places on the island, but this was just easy when having a resort day. I got lychee, coconut, and mango flavor with a condensed milk drizzle.

Mainly went for the mickey shaped shave ice, the shave ice was good but the disappointing part was the girl working, she was the only unfriendly employee we encountered during our entire stay at aulini, not even trying to be friendly as we ordered.

I mean, shaved ice... how much can you really do it to make it different from the rest? Leave it up to Disney.Well, yes. I paid $7.50 to get the whole experience. Lol. Got their number 4 (eha) special ($6.50) added Mickey ears ($1.00) because I'm at Aulani & it's cute & yes, you need it. The Eha special comes with 3 flavors of your choice, ice cream at the base of the bowl, & drenched in condensed milk. DELICIOUS. DELICOUS. DELICIOUS & refreshing bowl of diabetes... sugar overload but it was worth it. Now, if you're asking if I got special treatment since I have rainbow flavors on my photos... you just have to ask them for it. It is actually a masterpiece of ONLY 3 flavors that create this Mickey rainbow. They have so many flavors to choose from, it was difficult.Only con is... you have to eat this very fast. The ice is so fine, it melts extremely fast. I found myself drinking the sugar water to stop it from overflowing. Plenty to share among 3. 100% I would actually get this again when I come back.
