This place has a bunch of things on the menu from smoothies, to bubble tea and bahn mi. We had a hard time telling the lemon grass chicken from the combination. But the bread is pretty crispy and the vegetables really brighten up the sandwich. Can't say the same for the meats though. It was pretty gritty and fatty. It does come with a dipping broth that is a good compliment to the bahn mi or just to drink on its own. They said it would take only 15 minutes to make the sandwiches but it actually ended up taking 25 minutes with no other customers waiting.

Ordered a pineapple smoothie and a strawberry smoothie for my husband. The pineapple tastes pretty good but I can taste the condensed milk, kind of threw my taste buds off a bit. My husband says his smoothie was tasty but could use more strawberries in his opinion.

Tried this place for the first time today, ordered a tofu bahn mi and lemongrass chicken bahn mi. When we got home and opened our meal, it was a pork bahn mi instead of tofu... shitty mistake when you're a vegetarian. Called up and the lady that helped us apologized and said she'd be sure to leave my name for the next lady. Ended up returning to get the correct sandwich, upon arriving the Asian lady tried to argue saying we had to pay $9+ for the sandwich. Terrible service for their mistake! I tried to support a local business during hard times, but there are so many other local Vietnamese places, I won't be back!

Drive out here from waipahu to try a new restaurant and support local business. They messed up my order and did absolutely nothing to correct what was wrong on their behalf. The lady at the front was very rude and very unaccomadating. Very disappointed. Alot better vietnamese restraunt with alot better customer service! Then to top it off she tried to argue with me about my order and how it was correct when I had a completely wrong order. Cmon! All over 9 dollars! Cmon!

This is more of a preference thing. We were hoping for a nice healthy refreshing fruit smoothie, but what we received instead was a shot of sugar to the heart. I guess we should have clarified what "fruit" smoothie ment, but if you are into sugary smoothies, have at it. We used to go here a bunch when we lived in Kapolei, so either we forgot what it tasted like, they changed their recipe, or it was a mistake. Definitely going to start to make a habit out of asking what restuarants put into their "fruit" smoothies.

My wife and I enjoy the food at Tasty Shack. We have always had great service and the food is Ono. Due to Covid, we don't dine in as often as we used to but still order take out...

Second time that I've been to Tasty Shack in the Kapolei Village Center. It is located in a small shopping center that has Foodland as its cornerstone...situated near the corner that Teddy's Bigger Burgers and ( soon-to-be ) Paco's Tacos inhabit. First visit was a fantastic one. It is a small shop that does not allow any dine-in option, but there are a couple of tables outside. I requested the Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi. Excellent baquette and flavoring for the chicken. Also, had a Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie which was awesome on that previous sweltering Summer afternoon. Smoothies are $6 and for an additional $1 you can get boba. Get some bursting flavored boba for $1.25. This afternoon I had a Papaya Smoothie with Mango bursting Boba...and they do pop in your mouth. I am not a seafood eater and if this is what some caviar is like as far as texture...nope. Mango Boba was quite acceptable however and quite good. Papaya Smoothie was a good, refreshing drink. Lots of parking available for Kapolei Village Center and wide stalls...which are convenient given the number of recon vehicles that I notice in the area.

Menu price does not match what you are charged. The Lemon grass chicken sandwich was good. I don't understand the broth/sauce that comes with it. What I was unhappy with is, was the menu shows Lemon grass sandwich $9.75 ... my receipt showed $10.09 each + tax . I don't mind paying that if that's what the menu said. When asked about about the discrepancy on my bill I was told she did not know, that's just how the register rings it up. When I pointed out it was the wrong price . She said she did not know she was new and would ask someone about it later as she was the only one there. That did not do anything to correct the over charge on my bill. Disapointed in her responce. When you work somewhere you are in charge and if you are the only one working , then it is up to you to make things right.

This is by far the ONLY place I go to, for a hangover cure. Chicken Pho plus a Banana or Coconut smoothie is magic. It works every single time. I also bought the lemongrass chicken sandwich, and everyone in the office was jealous, just from the amazing smell. It taste even better. I've been going here for like 2 years now and will continue to do so, as long as I continue to drink alcohol. The new look is nice as well.

Best boba I’ve ever had

This place is good but I always came here for Chinese donuts. It was our favorite desert. Probably won’t be back unless they bring back the most delicious item that was on the menu. #RIP Chinese donuts

What can I say about this place!? It's a hole in the wall which serves up the best Banh Mi on the island-- hands down (well, actually they're up near my face eating the DELICIOUS sandwich!) You won't be disappointed by their lemongrass chicken banh mi perfectly balanced with the right amount of "bite" in the spice (it's very subtle) and the pickled vegetables. This flavor combo gives the most unique whirlwind of the eating experience, which is complemented by their texture in the crisp bite of vegetables, tender chicken surrounding that, followed by the fresh soft bread with a great outer crust.... Then you dip it in their lightly flavored pho broth..... wow. It's the best hidden gem on the west side of Oahu,
