Get the lobster grill cheese. It was so good we came back again before we had to go home. We went here before the Maui fires and I hope to make it back again once they rebuild.

I will start off by saying how devasting it was to hear of the fire. We were there on Monday, right before the fires. The staff were so pleasant and the service was quick. The food was so yummy and although everything was pricy, it was worth the cost.

Fun place to stumble upon and great food! We docked in Lahaina and just walked around the local area and were so pleased to find Down The Hatch. There was a large selection for breakfast, including a fair amount of vegetarian options. Both our dishes came with potatoes which were amazing! They were so tasty and a great addition. There was also live music playing that morning, the guitarist and singer was very entertaining. It would have been great to return in the evening to try the vast cocktail selection too.

Great place for breakfast. Full bar, good Bloody Mary. Only reason it's not 5 stars is location and service. It's not ocean side, but it is on Front Street, and it's in the courtyard of shop area. Only ding for service was you order/pay before you sit down. Neither are deal breakers, just makes it a 4 instead of a 5. Food and drinks are excellent considering the price is very reasonable.

This was a nice place but I did not care for the way you were seated. We stood in a pretty long line but that is not a big deal and to be expected because a lot of places have a line to get in. However, when you do get up the area where I thought they would seat us, you order up front (your whole meal...drinks, appetizers, and entree) and then they give you a number and the you have to fend for yourself to find a table. Then they bring your food out to you. So no server if we wanted more drinks, condiments, extra napkins...anything. We had to go get another drink at the bar and stand in line there. Overall, I would not return. The food was also just average.

We enjoyed our lunch at Down the Hatch. Fish tacos were some of the best we had on the island. Get the mermaid fries - I’m still dreaming about them.

We got the very well talked about lobster and grilled cheese. It was decent; however consider it cost us $30USD for a sandwich, it definitely didn’t live up to the hype. The line was very long and we had to wait for our food for a while. I will say the atmosphere is really nice and there was music and entertainment around us.

Down The Hatch was delightful. You walk up and order and find a seat in the open air courtyard and enjoy the little birds and koi pond that encircles the sitting area.Food is brought to you and is delivered quickly. If you're lucky, you got the chicken and waffles because that was an absolute dream!Staff was kind and helpful as well.I highly recommend stopping by and make sure you have the chicken and waffles!
