Great local place for amazing food and well crafted drinks, friendly and efficient staff with live music most days

We went for happy hour, The drinks were good, the fun was good and the Live Music was great! We had Loaded Grill Chicken Quesadilla. Awesome. had a ton of yummy chicken in it with other great toppings. Hubby had the Lobster and crab stuffed grilled cheese that was featured on triple D. It was good too. WE really enjoyed the live music and laid back vibe of the bar. Will visit again.

Interesting place, but expect a crowd. We had the fish and chips which was big enough to split. Fish was heavily battered, but hot and tasty. Fries were nicely salted and seasoned and crispy. Drinks were cool and sweet. We were there on Halloween, so costumes were everywhere making the atmosphere festive.

You’re buying an expensive dish worst part is that they charge you additional for having it to go. This place is money hungry, don’t go there this restaurant is trash. Down the hatch if your reading this you guys better fix your reason why you guys charging to go boxes, ridiculous, Restaurant on maui that only does this.

It’s as good as you’ve heard. From the fried fish to the quesadillas, it’s fresh with large portions and the atmosphere is one of a kind.

Stopped in for an early lunch, before noon. I am glad we went when we did, because by the time we finished eating the line had gotten quite a bit longer. The fish tacos were very tasty and my wife really enjoyed the Lobster/Crab Grilled Cheese sandwich.

We came here for breakfast and did not leave disappointed. Our breakfast was amazing. I had the French toast tower, 9 year old had pancakes, and husband had fried rice with eggs. The French toast was cooked perfect and came with a delicious compote, no syrup needed. My husband raved about the fried rice with bacon and linguica. We would definitely come here again. Great atmosphere and a little pond with koi to keep the kids entertained.

We visited this spot based on the recommendation of our Uber driver. My husband ordered the Shrimp P'o Boy and he said it was delicous. I ordered a cheeseburger and it was ok. It was kind of greasy, but not terrible. I also had a rum base Mule which was delicous. Live music, hip crowd and surroundings were cool. I am a little concerned about the Koi Pond. It looked really dirty. If your in Maui stop by.

I read many positive reviews about this place-so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, it was not a good experience for me. The most talked about Lobster, Crab & Cheese Sandwich was very mushy & I could not distinguish between the different ingredients, nor any spices. I did taste the bread -but not the rest. Could not taste any crab, shrimp, cheese, etc. it tasted like a bunch of mayonnaise between bread. Everything tasted the same. Guess the kitchen was having an off night. I noticed that for another menu item-they stated that it was made with imitation crab—perhaps it was in this dish as well. I mentioned my disappointment in the food to an employee who inquired about whether or not I liked my food. No one mentions that you have to go to other locations to pick up utensils, napkins & dispense your water. My food was delivered & I told my server that I needed these items & she directed me across the floor to 2 stations. By the time, I found glasses to dispense the water in-my food was lukewarm. All of the wines by the glass & champagne are by the House. I did not care for the $10 glass of champagne. It’s a very noisy place with some koi In moats, located next to the tables, suffering from the noise,& trying to hide out.

The food was very flavorful. We came to DTH because of DDD while we were on Maui. It was a casual place with seating in a courtyard type setting. There was a pretty good wait to order. The atmosphere was light and uplifting. I enjoyed the shrimp Lava tacos (with corn tortillas). I wish I could have tried the Lobster-Crab grilled cheese, but I am GF (and no GF bread). Either way, a great place to visit and enjoy yourself.

Their food is great! We had the mermaid fries, lava lava tacos and poke plate… all were great! The only thing we didn’t like was not having a server so we had to stand in line for drinks while we had our food. Highly recommend if you just want to eat or have one drink.

Hit this place twice on our trip to Maui. Yeah it’s a bit of a chain, but they’re a chain on the rise. First stop was breakfast and the second stop was lunch. Food was great, well prepared, and lots of unique options. Drinks were terrific and the live music was just right for a casual/chill meal/drink! Great stop!

On the recommendation of a coworker, stopped into Down the Hatch while visiting Lahaina. Fun and lively place with good food and drinks. I ordered the Shrimp Po'Boy with shoestring fries (and a Moscow Mule) while Shelly had the Double Scratch Burger with shoestring fries. Delicious meal and a good place to people watch.

This place is on the heart of Front Street in the lower level. As you wait on the stairs to order and be seated there is a color coded light letting you know the approximate wait time from the time you order to when you get your food. This place always had a line but it seemed to move quickly. We had 2 of the Mahi Mahi fish sandwiches and fries. We were very pleased as this was probable the best fish sandwich we hand on Maui. The fish was grilled and moist with a mango salsa and a sour cream sauce on a Hawaiian bun. The fries were seasoned well and crispy. We very much enjoyed our dinner at this location.

We had some time to kill before getting on a submarine. So we ate breakfast here. By far the best breakfast spot on Maui. 10/10 recommend.
