Worthless Opinion

After a full week of “carrot juice and soaking up rays”, the southernmost restaurant in the USA stood before me - offering pizza. BBQ pork pizza. Apparently Hana Hou translated is Heaven. Lilikoi lemonade…which if I’d had a designated driver would have been a lilikoi maitai… very chill place, spotless and nice servers. One pizza serves four. Definitely a good day because of Black Sand Beach & Hana Hou. I took a MacNut Creme Pie to-go to tide me over for the three hour drive back on Saddle Highway back to Kona. Heaven.

Been to every island a few times. Hands down the best mahi I have ever had. Wife had the chicken wrap and holy cow that thing was amazing also. Just try this place and take some great advice.

I wish we had gone to the food truck around the corner. Everything was okay, the food, the service, the extra credit card fee, but no more and considering the prices (including the mandatory service charge, the 3.9 percent credit card fee) definitely not the best value. At least you can sit inside when it is raining, so there is that ☔?

Not worth $20 for a plate lunch special for Lasagna Veggie. Portion is small and decent. The staff there is not very friendly and polite. The owners I used to know were much nicer and friendly. I ain't spending big money for a plate I ate.

We miss the old Hana Hou!! Since the pandemic, the menu and ordering has been less than ideal. The menu is in the walkway outside of the restaurant, and the options are high prices for what you get. We miss those good Loco Moco choices!!! Last time my husband and I visited, we kept getting rushed away from the menu, and we felt like we were just settling for something to eat instead of getting something we wanted to have. I ordered the Ruben, and he got a hamburger Loco Moco. My sandwich was meant to come with macsalad, but I didn't receive any. The sandwiches are little for the high cost. (No local discounts) The Loco Moco had over cooked mushy rice, and just did not taste like it was home made with Aloha. We miss the old menu and atmosphere, and unfortunately we don't think we will return any time soon. We understood the changes that were made during the pandemic, but now we just don't plan to go back since things have stayed the same. :( Very disappointing. We will probably give it a year and try again. We would love to leave a 5star if things get better. We miss the old Hana Hou!!

We like the pizza and Lili koi lemonade. Service has a lot of room for improvement but they make up for it in other ways. Friday nights are fun with live music.

It was a quick stop for lunch. A bit pricy but food and service were good. I like the lightly breaded shrimp. Corn bread was huge and super tasty.

My girls and I went to eat at this restaurant after a long day filled with activities on Saturday March 1st, and this place met our expectations. From the moment you step through the door, you're greeted with live music that brings you back and a very nice hostess. She was also the owner of the restaurant and very friendly, and tentative throughout our stay.We ordered three main dishes, a pizza and two special dishes. Then for dessert, we ordered the banana cream pie. They were all delicious! This was a perfect way to end our day and to keep our bellies full for the next 2 hour car ride back to our airbnb.I would highly recommend this place for it’s location, food and service!

I’m so glad we found this diner on our way back to Hilo from the South point. What a gem! The restaurant is run by a mom and daughter duo. Incredible pizzas and their special dishes of the day did not disappoint. Would highly recommend.

This was probably my favorite restaurant in Hawaii!!! The food was absolutely amazing. My only complaint was the bathroom. The door didn't even close right.

Not very friendly sever and we were forced with a hand written added tip of 20% for my wife and two very small children because we are a "party of four" in spite of us only ordering two things... Lots of other better places to go than this here.

Small local restaurant with good service and great mac nut cream pie. The lilikoi pie was also amazing! Forgot to take a picture, we ate it so quickly :)We like to bring our own reuseable take-away containers, it's always appreciated. Mahalo!
