Margarita had orange juice which was interesting twist but tasted great. Had nachos and seafood quesadilla which were flavorful and delicious - just need to drain ground beef a bit. Much better than el azteca.
Best Mexican restaurant I've been to in Ames, the margaritas are strong but tasty, the food is amazing. I got the shrimp quesadilla which was huge and packed with around 12 huge shrimp. It was awesome, my boyfriend got the Chile verde which here, is a whole piece of pork that I think they slow cook in the sauce. It was also awesome, tender and soaked up a ton of flavor from the sauce and it wasn't too fatty either. The prices are awesome for what you get.

I'm from Texas and miss good Tex-Mex. Some friends took me here, and now it is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Ames. Great chips and salsa, cheap margaritas, good food, fast service, friendly staff. Give it a try!
