My Denver omelette was terrible. Bell peppers, onions and ham was not sauteed, the egg tasted rubbery.

? ? Danielle, you were so kind this morning helping with the order for egg sandwiches for my husband & I. Our dog loved his breakfast as well! You are an amazing, thoughtful young lady! We appreciated your little notes on our sandwich boxes. If only more customer service was as kind as you, more restaurants across America would be amazing! ?Please tip well for Danielle. She is one of a kind as a waitress. The cook here, didn't get the name this morning did good as well!! Breakfast here beats big chains any day!

I called to place a take out order and was told they only had one cook. I understand being short staffed but I was told at least 15 minutes and 45 minutes later no bacon and eggs. I’m sorry but just don’t take the order or close till you can service people. I’m now hungry and late to work. Nobody gave me updates or a time frame or an apology. Too be honest there weren’t that many people in the restaurant either.

Recommend the chicken fried steak for breakfast, has great taste...steak! Imagine that. Not processed cardboard. Great service also, clean, nice place. Old do we feel.

Ordered a back 40 burger. Burger was alright nothing fancy and fairly small but had a decent flavor, fries that came with it the 20 that were included with the meal were bland, dry, cold and lacked a lot of flavor. Overall not the worst I've had but leaves room for improvement. Service was also quite lacking a fair bit unattentive towards the customers.

Pork tenderloin sandwich is absolutely a great meal here. I stop and grab one every time I come through. Try the egg rolls and cheese burgers as well. Great food made by the nicest people in Iowa!

First of all, place was full of flies! Lighting was horrible, even for the daytime. Menus were SMALL, PAPER,& BADLY WORN...NEEDED TO BE DISCARDED! Print was so small we,& most other customers could barely make out what it said. Next...they were out of most everything we wanted to order! When our food FINALLY got to us it was COLD & NOT COOKED PROPERLY.DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY GOING HERE!!!!!

Coffe was bad food was ok place was dirty. Had to keep asking waitress to keep bringing me things that already should be in the table like napkins and fake creamer. Can’t waste any more time writing a review for a below average restaurant. I stopped in here because it’s a Flying J truck stop but did not find this restaurant that good.

Was looking for a restaurant along I80 that was not fast food and was pleasantly surprised with the American Pie Cafe. The prices were reasonable and the server was very friendly. The menu has a lot of great choices. We followed the server’s recommendations - I had the pork chop, garden salad and loaded baked potato. It was the juiciest pork chop I’ve ever had. My husband had the meatloaf, salad and mashed potatoes. Which were also good. In addition to these types of full dinners, they also serve breakfast all day, burgers, and sandwiches. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because it took about 45 minutes to get our entrees after getting our salads. Server told us that the Friday night crowd kind of overwhelmed the chef. But a busy restaurant is a good sign of the quality of the food. So I would recommend this restaurant if you are in the area and have time to sit and enjoy a good meal.

Absolutely primo. The sirloin steak is amazing. I intentionally pushed my hours to stop at this truck stop with the full service restaurant. But I hear they are closing if for a fast-food place.Terrible move. I could stop anywhere else and get the same. Who throws away their unique advantage over the competition??Up the prices and keep the service truckers need. We'll pay it to keep the last true old-time truckstop in 100 miles.

Jeremy, the server, has a bad attitude. He constantly complains to customers about everything and then tries to make jokes about it when confronted about his service. He forgot to bring a side salad and then asked the other server, Katie, to bring his customers their food while she was busy with her own customers. He make rude comments to customers consistently.

We asked for restaurant recommendations at the front desk of our motel. While the clerk wasn’t from the area and didn’t have local dining experiences, another guest heard the conversation and gave the American Pie (located in the Flying J gas station across the street) his highest recommendation, so we decided to give it a try. It was a pleasant surprise! Service was fast and efficient. I got a very tasty pork tenderloin sandwich that was huge! Almost twice the size of the bun! Fries were done just right. My wife decided on an omelet and hash browns. When it arrived it was on a large plate and completely filled it! She said it was delicious! Don’t let the gas station location fool you. This place has good food, with large portions for a good price!
