Of the 3 breweries in town this is my favorite. My wife and I like IPA and they have a regular, DIPA, and a Belgium triple. Nice atmosphere, good prices and an out side patio that faces east so shaded in the evening.

No parking close by. Very loud can't even hear the conversation i have with people. The beer is beer. A tad bit over priced. The food? Not so great. Leave the Mexican food to the Mexican folks.

There are other breweries around if you want experimental and unusual beer. If you want tried and true solid, done-right-classic-styles craft beer this is the best option in the cedar valley. Worth a stop indubitably.

The New Year's Eve Chef's Tasting was a five course meal of gourmet offerings, paired with great fresh craft beers brewed on site. We are looking forward to the coming regular weekend offerings from Chef Clint Goodman and more special dinners in 2023. Nick has hinted of some exciting new brews nearing completion. It is going to be a great January to visit Second State!

Food from the new kitchen is downright incredible, they have an awesome selection of beer and the staff is so dang polite. Absolutely worth your time to stop in.
Update 12/22A new Chef has joined Second State and will be serving starting on January. He is well known in the area and we are very excited. Initially probably only weekends but expect expansion over time.—-------Had a great retirement reception there. Family friendly. Ordered three kinds of very tasty nachos, as well as hummus from the kitchen (which is currently open Wed-Sun). Menu rotates. Check Facebook page. Beer assortment changes a bit over time; they continue to add new varieties. Great event! They also have wine, hard cider, and soft drinks for the non-beer drinker.
