Parking was difficult. Waitress was a little rude at first, but tried to make up for it. They no longer have steak de burgo which is what I went for but the hanger steak was good. Must try the portobello appetizer! Delish. Probly won't be back mainly because of location/parking and not alot of menu options.


Took my wife here for her birthday. It felt like my birthday! Everything was so good. My favorite restaurant here in Des Moines and top I’ve ever had.Also Nicole was delightful.

A three course vegan meal really surprised me so I tried it.Tasted the focaccia bread with olive oil, both on the table. Olive oil had good taste and low acidity, yummy.Avocado hummus with grilled pita. Garlicky, can taste the avocado but not the hummus. Very good.Panzanella salad. Tomatoes, cucumber with seeds removed, onions, basil, a million croutons, and seasoning. Good but way too many croutons. IMO, croutons don't belong in a salad.Cauliflower risotto was ok. No flavor stood out, overall ok (I love garlic).Also tried the Vegan Pot de Creme as a desert, dense and very chocolatey.My wife tried the ribeye with mashed potatoes and asparagus, she said that while the steak wasn't medium rare it was still very tasty. She also tried the marshmallow Sunday, looked good but was hard to get to the different layers because it was served in a glass.The restaurant was overly air-conditioned, so much that another customer was wearing a napkin for warmth.Service was excellent, attentive, and very friendly, plus one star and one star for having a complete vegan meal.

My wife and I wanted to treat my parents here as we'd heard only good things for years. We'd stopped in for drinks once before and really enjoyed it. On the Wednesday night we went it was an absolutely incredible dining experience. From cocktails to dessert, everything was excellent. Our server Andrea was top notch. She rolled with my step-dad's banter and was very patient, offering great suggestions based on our tastes and mood. We started with a couple appetizers and several cocktails then moved on to four entrées, a bottle of wine, and more cocktails. We ended up getting steak, one of the chef seafood specials, pasta, and some dish that the waitress patiently concocted negotiating between my step dad and the chef. Every single dish was amazing. We closed dinner with dessert cocktails and a couple desserts and got out of there for $413 after tip. Well worth it. Treat yourself to the premiere food, drinks, and service. Cheers.

Visited to try the gnocchi dish on the restaurant week menu. It was just ok. Would not recommend this dish. Great service and follow good covid protocols.

First off...the food is excellent. All the appetizers where delicious and the entrees were big portion and delicious too. The staff was very professional and attentive. Would highly recommend for business meeting or good meal with significant other.

We travel a good bit around the US and around the world too. We eat at recommended spots wherever we go. This place is top notch. We went based on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. Excellent food, and top tier service.

Very good Italian food. The menu has a wide selection and the restaurant has very cool decor. The staff was also very friendly.

Wonderful service, but my guest and I found it a bit odd that we were seated next to the kitchen when lots of other seating was available, and that we were served a New York Strip when we ordered and were charged for a Ribeye. Other reviews suggest that this is a trend, perhaps not expecting guests to know the difference between cuts of meat. A delicious meal, but make sure to get what you ordered!

Had a fantastic birthday celebration with my sister at Centro's on Sunday night. We got a table right away and drinks were served within 20 minutes! We tried the homemade hummus platter that was wonderful. The special was seabass with artichokes and fingerling potatoes. My sister received a complimentary birthday desert as well! Thumbs up on the whole dinner!! I wishedI would have taken more pictures!

Was in Des Moines for basketball tournaments and tried this Great Italian restaurant. Big servings most plates are great to share. Started with calamari, Portabella mushrooms, had shrimp rigatoni and mixed veggies for entree.

Absolutely fabulous! After a long day of travel in the car, Centro was a bit more upscale than our attire, but they welcomed us anyway with friendly greetings and warm smiles. The warmth extended to their pre-meal bread that was delicious. (Warning: save room for your meal!) I ordered the steak salad ($19) and my wife got the mac & cheese ($23). Enormous portions bursting with flavors. Because we were in a hurry, they got us in and out quickly, but I noticed other tables were enjoying their evening and their meals. And our server was timely without being overbearing. Just an overall great place.

Our dinner was delicious. Hummus as our starter and Mac and Cheese for dinner. We've eaten here numerous times when we're in town and our meals are terrific!
