Great service. The crowd can move slowly so come early. Great food and drink selection. You can't go wrong with your pick.
We moved here from the West Coast but have lived in many states. We are excitedly trying new restaurants to find favorites. I called ahead and asked about the au jus. We decided to give this place a try. We ordered for pick up so I can’t say much about the service, although it did look lively and the drinks were being enjoyed!The sandwiches had a slice or two of meat and did not come with fries or any side. The tiny cup of jus was shocking. It was disappointing to see more bread than meat and cheese for the price! See pics.The Mac and cheese was okay. Not bad but not worth the price I feel, it was bland except for the crispy onions on top.I have been told this is a Des Moines favorite and I think maybe we just need to adjust our taste buds and expectations when it comes to food to price ratio.

We ordered two grilled cheese. And to be honest, there is too much cheese between the bread. If you’re a super cheese fan, you’ll be very glad here. I like cheese, but the grilled cheese here is too heavy. Some of the grilled cheese even has a generous layer of gravy on top. Not only too greasy, too much cheese also makes a sandwich too salty.Chicken wings are surprisingly good. They are grilled and smoked. The fat in the wings has been rendered out during being smoked. So it’s a comparably the lighter entree than the grilled cheese. They are flavorful and I recommend to eat them without sauce.

I had lunch there this week. The soup I had was particularly good and the service was as well. I asked my server for some hot sauce for my soup. Upon receiving my bill, I realized I was charged an extra $2 for the pepper sauce. This seems excessive resulting in a 20% increase in my lunch bill. I've never had something like this happen when dining out. Still seems odd
Often busy on weekends but it makes me so glad. This place deserves all the business. They have amazing Mac and cheese and their staff is always so friendly. If you have sensory sensitivities I recommend going when it’s quieter, but it’s delicious and worth the visit.I actually discovered this place on Reddit. Someone was drunk and looking for good Mac and cheese. So thank you drunk redditor for leading me to one of my favorite local joints.

Go here. Had the sweet potato fries, Mac and cheese, and the lemon vinaigrette salad. Went 2-5 weekdays for 5$ bites! Really good! Shared all with daughter and grand baby!
