Very small, as the name suggests. Great, high quality craft cocktails. Nice atmosphere, decorated with found things which gives a vintage feel. Great stop for a drink before or after dinner.
We've been several times and always have a great time. I have been inside when they've had to refuse service which would be upsetting cause you're missing out on some bomb cocktails but it's called "small bar" for a reason. Their drinks are priced well for the amount of alcohol you're getting (between 9-11$ pretty average for a lot of places I've seen in dsm and cheap if you're used to big city cocktail pricing). The bartender here is more knowledgeable about mixing drinks than any other bartender I've met. There is a limited selection of fantastic drinks made by passionate people. If you want shots of Fireball this is not the place for you. If you like experiencing gastronomic drink combinations this is one of the only places in Des Moines you have.
