Both of the bartenders were great!! We brought a caravan of cars from out of town for a birthday trip!! GST was a stop on our way to elsewhere and it was busy!!! They both served us in a timely manner with welcoming arms. Emily and Marsha were the best!! 8/2/25!!
Stopped here after a friend told us about it on our way to Psycho Silo. Marsha opened the door and served us ice cold beverages on a very hot day! She was awesome! The service was great the place is Very Very clean & they have Butches Pizza! Marsha shared a few other destinations to check out & told us about all the things she has going on at The General Store Tap! If you are in the area don’t forget to stop and see Marsha and the gang! We will definitely be back!!
The former Amber Jar Antiques Co. is now The General Store Tap. The original building that was built in The Village of Altona is now Altona's new and only bar. It opened up on May 6th 2021. It has a very friendly atmosphere. 6 beers on tap, plus spirits. At the time that they opened their gaming machines had not been delivered yet, but the State of Illinois Gaming Board has approved them for 6 machines. The only food that they have to offer is Butch's Pizza, popcorn...
