Kyle, our server was friendly and efficient. The food was ok too good.....the steaks were cooked just right w/good flavor. The special halibut was overcooked, tasteless and dry. The appetizers and sides (especially the mushrooms) were good......
Didn't quite know what to expect but the food was excellent! If you are lucky enough to be there on the night they have the stuffed tenderloin...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Rose was a great waitress and we had a great time for a date night.
We were celebrating a family "milestone" and Hamilton Walker was the place! The food is always tasty and plentiful (brought home 1/2 of my steak tips meal; making 2 additional servings for lunch today!). My husband devoured his twin petite steaks. The green bean side was over-cooked but hot and plentiful. The old fashions are superior! The bar was s-l-o-w with our wine. We were almost finished eating before it arrived. We complained. The ambience is a step-above Outback, but we appreciate the cool, retro 40s music. The dining room is noisy and hardly anyone dresses up but it makes for good people watching. It sounds like I'm complaining but it was a very good meal and nice place to celebrate!
I want to give the server Savannah a shout out for being so attentive and cheery and knowing her menu. It was a pleasure to dine in this establishment. Food was good ambience was nice and sound level was perfect for a conversation. Cream brûlée was very tasty and my husband loved his 7 oz filet.
Nathasha was excellent! We were troubled with what to order with the comfort dishes and she recommended the steak tips and garlic mashed potatoes! It was absolutely amazing! Her service was outstanding! We will be back again soon to try another amazing dish...or even the juicy Ribeyes next time!
Very nice, as always! Great service, wonderful staff, delicious food. I've always been hooked on the fabulous shrimp cocktail and the homemade cocktail sauce with a kick! But now...the s'mores pie? OMG it was super delicious and not nearly as messy as a campfire s'more. Of course I'd still like to see the return of the Baked Alaska, but this will satisfy my sweet tooth for a while.
Great restaurant! Our waitress was attentive and knew the menu enough to give recommendations that worked out really well. The ambience was really nice. I celebrated my 6th anniversary here and it was a great date. I also really appreciate how the waitress informed us how the sides are family style so we knew to make only one order. We will definitely come back to this restaurant in the future.
A friend and I specifically make the trip to come back every year to Hamilton Walker's. The food is always amazing and creative, and all on the staff are eager to explain and walk through what options are available and what some of the thought processes are behind the dishes. All while doing this, though, I've felt at home every time I am here; Hamilton Walker's houses a gem while remaining unpretentious.
Great experience- as always! This is our favorite spot for special occasions and we deeply appreciate how accommodating HW is to families with littles. Our girls are 4 & 9 and love dressing up and “eating fancy”. They like a good steak nearly as much as we do and were excited to order a mini version for them! My husband's birthday ribeye was perfection and everyone couldn't leave my crab cakes alone. The warm, friendly service was impeccable and the highly recommended affogatto was a real treat along with the chocolate torte. We look forward to every visit, thank you!!
Thrilled to have the family together for the Illini game & birthday celebration. Service was impeccable. Food & drinks - delicious! Halibut fish special & seafood pasta were favs. Lamb chop app was perfection. What a special night!
Our server was excellent and attended to every need. The food was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The only negative is dining room is loud and it is pricey but you get what you pay for. And our server offered to turn down the music and turn down the AC (we were cold) without us requesting.
I was in town for the Illinois-PSU game. My friend and I got a last minute reservation for an early dinner and had a fanatic experience. The steaks were all top quality, and I was not disappointed with the boned in ribeye that the waiter recommended. The salad was exceptional with a full slice of thick cut bacon on it. I also had the smoore desert, which was a nice way to end the dinner on a fall evening. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through and I hope to go back.
This was our first time eating at Hamiltons, and the service was excellent! The manager came to our table to see how things were going and we told him that our son was turning 17! We asked if there was anything we could do to celebrate, and the manager said that Hamiltons love celebrations, and they could bring out a slice of cake free of charge! The cake was a flourless chocolate torte. It tasted amazing! All the food was incredible and such large portions. Overall we rated it 5 stars and will refer our friends there for special occasions. Thank you!
The service: amazing, timing: fantastic, food: best in town. The best part about this establishment is that you can enjoy your time. They are at your service. If you want to sit and enjoy company, you never feel rushed or pressured. They work around you. Have some extra folks come? They will figure it out. The epitome of service and creating an excellent atmosphere. Always feel welcomed and they are excited to have you. Already looking forward to my next visit.
Excellent. Start to finish. It started with Amber taking and helping with the reservations, to drinks at the bar until our whole party arrived. We had Brittany for a server and she was very attentive, “Johnny on the spot” service. Quick, accurate and pleasant. Exceptional waitress/ server. The food was exceptional and we complimented the chef. The booths could be a little bigger as I am a big guy but what restaurants have big booths? I'd would highly recommend even though you don't know me, you should take my advice and patronize Walker's.
