Food was just ok. More Americanized food than Mexican food offers. Portions are small for the price. Many other Mexican restaurants in town that I would choose before returning to this restaurant.

Not a bad experience, but not amazing. The food was average, and the salsa was different from any that I've had. The service was really good and attentive overall!Vegetarian options: Very slim. I'm sure they could accommodate off menu items if asked.

Breakfast outside on the patio is glorious. Fresh orange juice (fantastic); pancakes, Mexican skillet, and the home fries (amazing). Will be returning!

Went to Black Bull on Mother's Day for breakfast. No wait when we got there. Waiter was rather confused and had to ask us a couple of times what we were getting after we gave our orders. Food was great as always. Owners make you feel welcome, will definitely go again. I was pleasantly surprised that they painted the walls a bright yellow since I was there last. They use to have dark gray walls with a black ceiling and floor. The yellow is a major update, so cheery.

We are usually Pancake House people but wanted to try out a new local spot. Been hearing great things about breakfast here. It was awesome! We got omelets (western and veggie add bacon) and one Tex-Mex burrito. The bacon in the omelet was crispy and delicious! The burrito my sister loved. Great service, the people who were working were friendly and answered all our questions about what to get. One pro-tip is that the toast wasn't buttered so ask for that if you like buttered warm toast! We definitely want to come back and try other breakfast items. I heard they do mimosas too!

I stopped here with my parents. We all loved our dishes. The potatoes were great. Great portions, quality & price. Can easily be vegetarian friendly.

Great little gem here. Good food diverse menu including breakfast and regular lunch if you want. Good value as well some outdoor seating is available if the weather is good. Good service feel like a nice family run restaurant.

Had the Deluxe fish sandwich which is currently on special Friday and Saturday nights. It was very good, light & flaky, and cooked perfectly. I recommend you try it before it's gone. We will definitely be back to try breakfast and the Mexican cuisine.

My wife and I had the Deluxe Fish samwich which is my Uncle Francis, Steve Flynn's dad recipe. The fish melts in your mouth like always. Still the best fish in the state of Illinois

We had heard great reviews about The Black Bull and they were true! I had street tacos and my wife had a BLT. Both excellent! Chips were light and homemade... very good. I can't wait to go back for breakfast!

Had breakfast here...omelet was good. All pretty standard breakfast issue...service was a bit slow Prices...competitive. Just wondering what the saturation point is with Mexican Restaurants....pretty much one on every corner of town. Good location , not a lot of competition around.
