AREA CODE 541 is in OREGON! This place in Chester IL does NOT serve food. Apparently they are aware of this issue and have tried to fix it. The people there were very kind and friendly. It’s sad that they have to be subjected to such a mix up. It’s not their fault.

They need to remove "grille" from their name. They do not serve food at all. We stopped in after looking online (where it says dine in or carry out). It was disappointing. However,the bartender was was very sweet & helpful.

I had high hopes for this place after looking at the menu online. They were quickly replaced with annoyance and disappointment. The waitress was terrible. She spent a majority of her time talking to her family then when we asked for refills or a spoon she acted like we were annoying her and actually told us when she had time she would get it. Then the food was less than mediocre. The fries were like left over soggy McDonald’s fries. My clam chowder had grit in it. Then they wanted us to pay cash only or get charged extra. Seriously we don’t live in the Stone Age. Then when the bill came they told us we couldn’t split it or we would get charged 2 dollars extra per check. Then she proceeded to act like we had no idea how to add and asked us if we knew how to use the calculator on our phones. Yet when she brought back the bill she couldn’t figure out the change. We will never go back. And i wouldn’t suggest this place ever to anyone.

The location is awesome. The day I stopped in, the section that I sat in was very drafty and cold. The food was good. There are a lot of choices on the menu. The server was very fast. I will visit again the next time I am in the area.

The Salty Dawg is a great small town bar. The only food they sell now is frozen pizza, but it's pretty tasty after a few drinks. Frequent customer!

Saw this driving but so stopped for a bite on the way home. Love it! Super yummy oven baked pizza. Tasted like 'more' lol lol Also have merchandise, looked tempting, got 2 small pkgs of gluten free pasta to try. Excited to try it. Definitely recommend it. Loved it, going back, asap

If you're ever in Chester Illinois The salty Dawg should be one of your stops. The bar's owner is excellent she's one of the best. The customers were outstanding also.
