Visiting from Virginia and was looking for that Chicago cuisine everyone raves about. Well this place exceeds expectations. The curb appeal is gorgeous. The staff are amazing. Pete makes an amazing blue cheese dirty martini. I’m very particular about my martinis and he overdelivered. So the food. They have created an environment where bar meets fine dining. The presentation, the taste…impeccable. We had the hummus and garlic parm wings…they did not disappoint. Then the presentation for the burger with their logo stamped in the bun was the finishing touch. Definitely in our top ten across the country.

Service and atmosphere was great can’t complain. Beer and other alcohol is cheap so that’s definitely a plus for a bar setting but stay away from the food. It was barely edible. We got almost every appetizer off the menu and none of it tasted good. The calamari were the worst calamari I’ve ever had, wings were undercooked, fries seemed reheated, sliders were soggy and the meat chewy.

My friend and I had st. Michelle wine. Very good. I have eaten there many times and got the filet- done perfectly, and the house salad. My friend loves the prime rib sliders, their soup, their burger and the chili. We've had 2 of their desserts - the cheesecake topped with raspberries and the creme Brule. All were fantastic. Great interior too.

This wasnt what I expected it to be. It is truly a bar and grill that offered a valentines day dinner...the dinner menu doesnt match the venue. While the food was good, the staff was very friendly, in my opinion this was not really a "date night" venue. It has two sides, a bar side and another side, didnt get to see it though cause it was Valentines day and they had a special menu that I didnt order, so I sat on the bar side. It never got too busy though.
Went on Valentines Day, and the restaurant for dining was closed. We were seated in the bar area. We received roses and a very warm greeting. Appetizers were delicious, and entrees were too. Will visit again. Parking was great at 3pm but probably not so much at 6pm due to small size.

IMHO, HMD Bar and Grill is unlike any other place in the area. The food is fantastic, it is made to order and prepared by an actual team of chefs. I eat here often, it is by far my favorite place in the burbs. From bar food to 5 star, this place is the best in town.Vegetarian options: Much on the menu is vegetarian friendly and most can be made to order.Kid-friendliness: HMD has plenty of tables for families to enjoy themselves.
