Visiting chi googled best burger places and this came up...they are smashed burgers which were very small...it was seasoned but the burger did not fit the bun..they also do not offer basic toppings like lettuce and tomatoes..very disappointing.

I was going to get a double cheeseburger with lettuce and tomatoe but they don't serve them..WHAT! I can't eat a burger without them so I gota cup of Chilli instead with fries and they were very goodother than that it was ok ?

John Belushi got the idea for the SNL "Cheezborger, Cheezborger, Cheezborger" skit. Third time I've been to Billy Goat over the years, and the atmosphere, food, and decor has not changed from what I can see and remember. It can be difficult to find, as it's not on street level of Michigan Avenue. This is is a fun, friendly place to enjoy beverages, food, fellowship, and watch a ballgame.

Came here for dinner, it wasn't busy which was nice. The woman working the counter was friendly and our food was hot & delicious. They do have a bar, but we didn't order any bar drinks. I ordered the Italian Beef, a hot dog and fries. Next time I come to Chicago I'll have to come back here.

It was such a regret that we only spent our final day in Chicago hanging out at Billy Goat Tavern. The ambience is very friendly and relaxing. The service is good.We ordered Rib eye sandwich and double cheeseburger, both are very well crafted and flavourful.Would defo come back!
The food was average and the service left much to be desired. The cashier's unwelcoming attitude upon our arrival and order was noticeable. Despite the restaurant only having 2 families, the ambiance was disrupted when the music volume was excessively increased during our meal. A request to lower the volume for better conversation was met with refusal, citing the volume as standard. Needless to say, would not recommend and will not be coming back here again.

Loved the open condiment bar because I'm a pickle girl so you know I grabbed all of them. You definitely need to get the double because the patties are thin but really good. It's an affordable and quick lunch. The inside isn't anything to write home about but they have a full bar and TVs if you want to stick around. Staff is nice.

Many trips to Chicago, but I’ve never had a Chicago dog! Checked this place out, because it was close to our hotel. Decent hot dog, fries weren’t much to look at, but were somehow cooked to perfection. Grabbed their Pilsner from the bar, which was also good. Would definitely come again.
