I've been here 2x and it is GREAT for a night downtown!!! The chips and guac, albeit expensive, are great to share with the table. The guac is super creamy and fresh tasting. Especially good because the food took a bit of time to come out, so we snacked on the chips and guac as we waited. I've tried the shrimp tacos (my favorite) and the al pastor (also yummy). The tortillas are my favorite part because they are so fresh and you can tell that they are homemade. And they are double tortillad! The margaritas are always a favorite! Only tried the original so far. Getting the pitcher is great if you have lots of people to share it with! I want to try the hibiscus next! It's really loud inside, but super fun for a night out. Just don't go for intimate conversation lol. Will be back!!
Me and my boyfriend weren't sure where to eat because we aren't from around the area and so we were just walking around and seeing what caught out eye and this place definitely did!!! The name, the color scheme, the lights, everything! Our server was so awesome! He was friendly and really knew what he was talking about. After we ordered he made sure to repeat back everything and listed some things that were on the foods (anything spicy, onions, pico, etc) that people usually might have a problem with to make sure we knew. The tacos were awesome we did the 6 for $22 deal and I would have to say our favorite was the tinga one. I also loved the vibe and feel this place gave off.
This is my first time in Chicago and I have to say what an absolutely phenomenal restaurant. The food or drinks and the deserts are all absolutely I really don't know if there is anything I would not eat on the menu. Also the merch and atmosphere are fantastic. The venue is small so heads up if you have a big party but aside from that. Definitely go here.
We ate here on a Saturday night. Altho it was crowded, we got a table right away with no reservation. Waiter was nice and informative. Started with guacamole and a pineapple margarita which was delicious. Good selection of different types of tacos. I had the brisket and tinga chicken. Both fantastic but the brisket was the most flavorful I've ever had. My husband had the pork belly and steak. A few pieces of the steak were a bit chewy he said, but the pork was very good. We were also brought a turkey taco by mistake (it was then comped) and it was very tasty but very hot! Staff was attentive but not overly. Atmosphere was fun and music was a little loud. The upside of that was hubby and I sat on the same side of the table so we could talk. That was nice! . Only complaint would be the messy restroom.
A surprisingly Amazing Taco taste , we tried the 12 taco platter, its the way to go with a group. The luchador them is very clever, check the pictures on the wall. I would definitely come back for more!!
Steak tacos, shrimp tacos, guacamole, and nachos.
Checked this place for lunch! Their tacos are great and some of the best I have ever had but expensive 8 dollars for two small tacos, (but hey it’s Chicago??♂️). It’s a soft tortilla taco and the meat was well done and it was tasty!
Have been here 2-3 times for HH. It's on the small side, gets crowded around 5 and is pretty loud. I had their medio which was decent but not worth $16 (esp for a casual taco joint) and we just ordered chips and salsa and guac. The chips came out hot which was great and the salsa and guac was pretty good. They ID'd my colleagues and I which is just weird cuz we are 40. So at this point in my life I find it annoying if I have to dig for my ID. Anyway, I wouldn't come here on my own but bc of its prime location I'm sure I'll be back at some point.
I was moseying along the streets of Chicago, feeling the cold breeze, when I saw a large sign saying "TACOS." I was drawn to this mystery, and I had to investigate. Upon entering the building I felt like I was transported to another world of Latin street art. I saw a sign on the wall that said "Will trade love for tacos" and I whispered quietly, "me too." I ordered tacos and churros. I've never made a better decision in my life. The tacos were delicious, and the churros (which were fancier than I'm used to, being paired with peach sauce and ice cream) will remain engrained in my memory for all time. I would highly recommend this establishment as a refuge from the windy streets of Chicago.
Awesome vibe in this place!! Stopped by here the other day to catch up with a friend for lunch! Great music was playing and the atmosphere was fun and friendly. The drinks are great, my friend and I sipped on some cosmos! Tacos are yummy! I ordered the fried chicken tacos. Absolutely amazing. We had superb service and I also found out they have Taco Tuesday's! Another reason to come back soon!!
One of the best taco restaurants in Chicago, great simple but very tasteful food. Superb use of fresh herbs in dishes. Amazing guacamole! Fast and attentive service, with knowledgeable staff. Order was dished out in timely manner, even when we did reorder in between, it came to the table surprisingly fast. Great ambience created by mixing the Mexican culture with an American twist. Every table has a different mural experience as a background. Don't forget to look for the decorative "skull" section! Oh yeah, also great choice of music. Worth visiting!
The 5 stars is simply for the female hostess. The music was good as well, the service was wanting.. but the hostess was the best part of the night she went out of her way for us in so many ways. Thank you lovely!
Food was very good! Drinks were amazing! The meat tacos are a little a salty but very tasty.
We've eaten here several times and the flavours are the star here. Service is friendly and fast but the food just stands out. It's very funky and always busy for a very good reason!
The service was excellent, the server was enthusiastic and had lots of recommendations for our first visit. The any 6 tacos for $22 deal was great for a hungry two! We highly recommend the fried chicken and shrimp tacos.
This place is pretty cool as far as the atmosphere n vibe. I believe its strictly a tequila bar. They have huge variety of them. The signature cocktail are authentic. Street tacos are decent. I had the shrimp and pulled turkey taco. I would go back.
Such good memories here. I ordered the sharing platter and the selection was so good that I'm surprised we even finished it, so much food! Great value for what you pay. I'm happy we found this place while visiting from Toronto. The service was quick and excellent. The price for value is amazing. I highly recommend this place to anyone!
I love this place. Wonderful food and exotic drinks. The help was friendly and fun. Good prices too. Try any of the tacos for a taste treat then wash them down with a smokin' Margarita. A new favorite spot downtown.
Great food and great service with a fun eclectic atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly, we had the chicken tacos and loved them.
Place is really fun and vibrant. Service was good and lots of huge portions. Don't get the nachos by yourself unless you can eat for like 4 people. It can be pretty pricey.
It was a very mediocre experience. The tacos were pretty expensive for their tiny size. The nachos weren’t great and we didn’t even eat half of them despite being hungry. I don’t think I would recommend someone go here because there are just too many good taco places in Chicago. Cool vibe inside though!
I can't recommend this place enough! Just by walking in, you can tell that it is someplace unique and special. The food was delicious and the waitstaff was top notch
Good little hole in the wall for those need of a chips and queso fix to hold us over till we get home. TVs everywhere. Good service, good food, salsa needs work. Overall a good place and a good time.
Great atmosphere and good food. Recommended. It was loud, so if you want to have a discussion, you may want to plan for drinks somewhere quiet later.
Cute place! Warm friendly environs. Good tacos. Only problem was no free refills on pop.
Amazing food, great service, good prices, I'll come back again. Ordered family taco tray, all we got was great!
had the Nachos it was big flavorful spicy with some lemonade(free refills) waiter was awesome.. will be going back..
Service was fast and food was good, although not amazing. The quesadilla is quite large, easily shared by two people for a meal. You have to pay for chips which was a bit disappointing, I feel like chips and salsa usually come for free, but we ordered them anyways and they were tasty and both salsas were fresh. Not a lot of vegetarian options, but the veggie tacos were good. Margarita's were very strong.
Not bad. Have been to the other two locations in Lincoln Park and the Gold Coast as well. Pretty consistent food and drink, though all have completely different layouts. I like the Reservoir Dogs mural homage at this one. There is also a cool swinging door situation to get to the bathrooms. In the summer there is an expansive patio that takes up a lot of the pedestrian real estate, lol. It's a pretty patio to sit on, but will annoy you if you're just walking past. Winter you're all good!
The taco’s where SO good! The nachos Also. Very good price quality range. The interieur design was Also spot on. The only thing was that the music was VERY loud
This was my favorite restaurant out of our entire stay! Great service, the food was DELICIOUS. It's nice to find an authentic place and so much flavor! I wish we would have found it sooner in the trip.
Delicious , great service and fun decor
Loud music, tacos and spicy margaritas. Stopped in here for lunch with a girlfriend and the food and cocktails were pretty good! It's pretty loud and dark inside but the service is super fast and the staff is friendly!
I had the steak burrito while my boyfriend had the hamburger. Personally, I enjoyed the hamburger better than the steak burrito. The guacamole had too much lime. We also ordered a horchata and it tasted water down.
We enjoyed the family taco platter. It allowed us to try several different tacos at a reasonable price. I am in love with their red salsa. I would buy it if they sold it. I will be going back again.
Went last night with a friend, we ordered the nachos with guacamole and salsa. Personally, I loved the green salsa...very fresh. My burrito was perfectly seasoned and more than enough for the portion. Our meal was a good price. If I'm in the neighborhood again, I will definitely come back for more.
I had a wonderful experience in this restaurant. We enjoyed the excellent vibes and the menu. The staff were very affable. I’m content we ultimately decided to visit this place.
Came here for lunch. I recommend the carne asada tacos. Guac was okay, not the type of consistency I prefer but good (too much lime personally). Ordered the carne asada, fried chicken, and carnita tacos. I prefer them in that order. Good vibe overall. Wish I could give this a 3.5.
Service was not great at all. Refused to take off a dish we did not order and would not work with us as college students to split the check. The food was fine but nothing worth that much of a hassle.
