First timer. Although, i'd been hearing great things, I was hesitant to make the drive but when they had a pop up with Manny's Deli, I had to make the trip. I was glad I did. Free cupcake with every sandwich. I purchased 2 sandwiches, so that means too cupcakes.....Sweet.......I opted for the caramel and the rainbow sherbet. My son loves rainbow sherbet and the owner swore it tasted just like it. She was correct by the way. I also took 2 slices of caramel pound cake, a slice of caramel cheesecake and a slice of lemon cheesecake.....I had to share, so I got a variety. All were excellent and the caramel is the truth. These paired well with coffee or milk. Both owners were present and interacting with customers. Since this pop up was on a major thorughfair on the southside of Chicago during the lunch rush on a Friday, parking can be a challenge. Luckily, I arrive just before this. Parked just accross the street. The storefront is clearly marked, but it's easy to miss. The inside is small but, large enough to accommodate a small crowd picking up orders. I can easily see how a line could spill out onto the sidewalk because between people getting sandwiches, which was off to the side in the interior and the counter and display case immedately upon entry, this place was beginning to fill up fast. After my visit, I recently ordered more desserts to have them delivered at home via dwell social. I'm not a dessert person but this place has me re-thinking that.

I came in here two days ago. I needed to bring some cakes to a repast and thought of you guys! Soooo happy I did! I called first and asked if I could purchase a caramel cake to go. The nice lady on the phone said they had two layer and three layer caramel cakes that I didn't need a special order for. I could pick them up right away. I just couldn't get any special wording on them. Perfect!!! I was like 5 mins away. I came in and it was very busy for a Tuesday at 1:20ish pm. I love to see it! A younger gentleman ahead of me purchased like 4/5 cakes. The lady at the register had good customer service! I purchased a 2 layer caramel ($32ish) and a lemon ice box ($25)! I was told the lemon ice box pie was a specialty pie that they don't carry daily! Score!!!!!!! I was happy about that because I make lemon ice box pies from scratch and NEVER see them at bakeries. My total was $62ish. Everyone at the repast loved the caramel cake and lemon ice box pie. They thought I made them since I am a fellow baker! Amazing quality ingredients!! Good day what a sweet tasty Environment, I am truly thrilled about the service. I fell in love with one of the ladies that worked there. She had green hair and was quite helpful to me. She was very patient I understand her mom works there too.So we know it's a family orientated business. I finally made up my mind after so many of the sweet treats Belinda my friend Comes there on a regular basis, especially for the cookies. Personally i'm a sherbet cake caramel cake kinda girl. I visit from Beverly Hills. California Brown Sugar Bakery. is always my first stop 75th street. Thank you, love on purpose.

Literally the best bakery in the city. Their caramel is so decadent and Rich and thick, it's almost sickening. There's always a sale or something to buy at discount when you walk in the store but trust me you're going to want to spend all of your money and then some here.

I live in Pennsylvania but just had an Obama Cake delivered (yes - delivered). All I can say is that I am in Cake Heaven. For this cake to have been transported from Chicago to Philadelphia is a feat in and of itself, but to have it delivered intact and amazingly fresh was unbelievable. This cake is OUT OF THIS WORLD and it looks like I just picked it up from the bakery itself! Thank you, Julia Coleman for introducing me to what may now be my new "go to" for cakes for any occasion! I AM OBSESSED!!!!!!!

When you go to Lem’s Bar-B-Q, you need to stop into Brown Sugar Bakery across the street to complete your meal.This is some of the best carmel cake in the whole City. But they also have a fantastic red velvet cake; and a dense but yet soft - cinnamon bread pudding!Kudos to the pastry chef!

A LIGHT SKINNED HEAVIER WOMAN W/BLONDE LOCS, SHAVED EDGES BEGAN PACKAGING MY ORDER ON A CAKE TRAY...I ASKED HER TO INDIVIDUALLY PACKAGE THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE GOING TO DIFFERENT PLACES.
