Sweet-scented osmanthus cake originated in China during the Ming Dynasty. Though its exact origin is unclear, folk tales have it that the poet Yang Shen dreamed of visiting in order to take the imperial exam. It might have been due to the delivery time, but the fried chicken, which I expected to be crispy and flavorful, arrived a bit cold and was unfortunately dry and tough to chew. I actually ordered on Uber Eats. But the packaging is so cool they get 5 stairs for atmosphere.
I had Zhong Dumplings which were probably the best dumplings I've had. The chili oil was sweet and spicy and I dumped what was left on some rice and ate that too. No idea if that's the authentic thing to do, but it was really good.
I also had a vegetable Hot Pot. It's wonderful. I asked for extra spicy and that was perfect. It had some great lotus root...
