1. Tables were so cramped that it was difficult to hear anything or get up to go to the bathroom2. Ordered 6 dishes, (jalapeño biscuits, carrots, tagliatelle with Dungeness crab, okonomiyake, swordfish, and chiromante ). The swordfish was way overcooked and rubber. The tagliatelle with crab tasted like it was spoiled. The carrots were a highlight.Overall, for a nice meal, it was very disappointing. The food was subpar, the place was crammed, and the service was passable.

One of the best meals I’ve had in the 10 years I’ve lived in Chicago. Don’t skip the Japanese eggplant

Not worth the price. Staff is pretty unprofessional for what you pay - as is the atmosphere. Flank steak was tough. Seafood was cold.

That was so disgusting. The crab was half frozen, everything was oversalted with too much vinegar. The bread I got half a loaf of bread, it wasn't even warm nor was it properly risen. Tough to chew I could go to cheesecake factory and get better bread for FREE. Like we can't afford a full loaf of bread on the menu anymore? Damn... cocktails were not nice. Service was ok, but the tables were so shoved together we had to all move tables around mid meal to let people sit. What is going on?

Wow... What a huge disappointment this place was. They have the audacity to squeeze people into such close proximity to each other , "nevermind I thought to myself, maybe the food is great". Another huge disappointment, the main event we were looking forward to, the food. Omg, if you're trying to plate and wannabe fine dining portions for the prices, you better believe that it better taste mind blowing, it was not even average on average restaurant standards. Over salty, not fresh, bad flavours and just bad. People who say this place is good need to adjust their taste buds or they must be still suffering from covid taste loss. Bad, disgusting and so disappointing.

The food was absolutely excellent. I wish they offered a bread basket of just the jalapeño biscuits. So good! We had the Japanese eggplant, sortalini pasta, sourdough bread, flank steak and the cookies and cream cake. Every bite was delicious. The seating is very close together, so having a conversation can be a bit challenging. Parking was easy for a Wednesday night.

I've passed by this place so many times and one night when going out for dinner we decided to finally stop in as there was a super convenient parking spot out front and we sure are glad we did! It was phenomenal! Everything we ordered was delicious and the eggplant is a staple. They have many vegetable dishes and all of them that we tried were fantastic. We sat at the bar in the back and wouldn't trade it for a table if we had the option. The staff was super welcoming and answered any and all questions we had. It was like being on a food show, front row seats. Great spot for a date night and we may have found our new favorite spot in logan!Vegetarian options: Many delicious vegetable dishes!

My friends and I went in for restaurant week and the menu was amazing. The value and quality of the food was 10/10! The kitchen was clearly overwhelmed so food took a bit to come out, but our server was great. Our favorite dishes were the Japanese eggplant and the microwave cake with Oreo gelato. Delish! My only complaint is they have a 5% charge on all bills for employee health insurance. This should be on the establishment to pay them health insurance not the patrons. Or if they do want to pass it onto us, make it clear on the menu before ordering or be able to take it off if the patron wishes. I didn’t say anything, didn’t want to make a scene so I just paid it, but I just don’t agree with this.

Everything we ate was amazing. It's small plates, so you can try a lot of different items, and they have a variety of styles, many of them vegetarian. Can't wait to go back.

This was my third dining experience at Giant. I enjoy bringing friends here to “show off” our neighborhood restaurant. Unfortunately, this occasion was less of a “show off” and more of an apology. Our night started off on a poor note and never really recovered. The host, Mel, did not greet us and barely acknowledged us when we arrived. Rather, she stared blankly at us and almost seemed perturbed we arrived on time for our reservation. We were shuffled into the cold entryway as our table was prepared. 15 minutes later our group of four were sat and 15 minutes after that (30 minutes after our reservation time) we were approached by a server. Our server, Mike, greeted the table that was sat after/next to us prior to approaching our table. We ordered drinks and ultimately food. We inquired if the amount of food we ordered was enough, Mike said, “It should be.” (It was far too much.) The usual standouts were still decent/tasty (trout roe, jalepeno biscuit, crab salad, carrots, eggplant, okonomiyaki). However, the yardbird (chicken) was nearly inedible. Rubbery and tasted like a campfire. One of the few times Mike returned to our table he noted we barely touched the dish, though did not seem compelled to ask why or remedy the situation. Additionally, throughout the majority of our meal, our cocktails/beers were empty with no inquiry if we’d like another. That being said, the bussers and other service staff were friendly, engaging, and fun, though could not make up for the gaps in host/server attention.Unfortunately, my friends (nor I) did not feel the $300+ bill matched experience we had this visit.

Wow!!! This place is wonderful! Good drinks, but the food really takes the cake. If you don’t order the broccoli and the jalapeño biscuit, you’re missing out.

Giant is incredible. I happened upon it when another chef recommended it back in 2016. My husband and I had just had our first baby. Giant was our first date night out. It was so spectacular we couldn’t wait to go again. We rotated bringing different groups of friends and everyone loved it. The food isn’t just geared towards foodies and it’s far from basic. The ingredients are familiar but with unique twists and they’re all done to perfection. Over the years the menu has had changes but staples remain the same which is nostalgic for long time patrons like myself. The food, ambiance and service at Giant is exceptional and likely to result in additional visits. I don’t know the owner, but have run into him there several times. His thoughtfulness has contributed to many fond memories over the years. Beyond that, Giant supports local schools and communities as well as other nonprofit organizations. It’s a very special restaurant, I highly recommend it.
