Due to the Whitehall hotel being downtown Chicago horrible parking. Oh my God super pricey. I spent so much money just parking and really wasn’t at the hotel because I was visiting in Chicago. I guess that’s the worst part about it you’re paying $30-$50 a day for parking Indian and some places you’re not even allowed to leave once you park so this is ridiculous for one. The hotel really doesn’t give much for the price that it charges the room is extra small it doesn’t have a microwave I wouldn’t suggest it unless you just like to spend money but I feel like they should work on parking for people that spending almost $400 a night on a hotel.Rooms: Very small for the price that you pay

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with quality customer service. Cheryl was very attentive and kind. so were Allison, Ashia (I hope I spelled their names correctly). We stayed here two years ago and had to come back. I can't forget about Oscar from the restaurant, also amazing. Our beds were so comfortable and relaxing. I didn't get her name, but the lady that was at the front counter the evening of 2-24-2024... She was also very kind and helpful. Our grown-up children went as well. Our daughter and her hubby, thy also had a wonderful experience and memories. Thank you, White Hall, for making our trip to Chicago that much more special!

This hotel hasn't been touched since the 60s.No USB or wifi ports.Very few outlets. No coffee pots and limited access to coffee or any beverages! Asked for a fridge and it was a mini pay bar from 40 yrs ago.The staff was understanding that they had no way to remedy.Alex the bell captain was helpful. They have no valet or car parking but he made a deal with garage across street! Web site shows pool but there is none.Staff says they know it's a hotel in Texas but can't take it down. There is a 75 dollar charge unknown? I am a senior and walking is issue but had to walk 3 blocks for coffee or other needs. They have no sundries or even pop machine. No room service and restaurant never answered even when open.Overall they charged a rate that was suppose to be lowest-priced but all web book sites were 30 to 40 dollars cheaper.Rooms: Poor amenities. Looked at a roof and aircond units.Hotel was pretty empty on check in and was staying5 nights so a view would be nice!Nearby activities: Close to great stores, lake etcSafety: No security staff seen and street traffic allowed.Walkability: GoodFood & drinks: None

Iconic property that is destroyed by management. Check in was a disaster. Also be careful with their pitch of $50 credit per day for the restaurant. We have yet to see the credit

I have already had a wonderful experience with the hospitality team over the phone.Upon arrival Alex greeted me with a warm genuine welcome and helped us find parking.Felicia went above and beyond checking us in. Both have smiles that light up your heart. The restaurant attached was delicious and the happy hour was very fairly priced. Jose was very professional and made me feel first class!!!!! The beds made me fall asleep in one minute. Alicia one of the managers was more than gracious! So far the best hospitality I've experienced in years! Thank you

I am both satisfied and dissatisfied with the hotel. On the positive side, the elevator is fast, the service is excellent (except the problem below), and the breakfast was delicious. The room is also clean. However, one issue left me feeling disappointed. I stayed for 2 days, booking through software. According to my recollection, the reception staff mentioned a $50 daily allowance ($100 total) for dining at the affiliated restaurant. I spent $60 on the first day and $40 on the second, matching the limit exactly. Yet, a few days later, I noticed a $10 charge on my card. Upon inquiry, I was assured of a full refund within 10 business days. However, after two weeks, upon contacting them again, I was informed that the charge was for the tip left during breakfast. Even if they insist they mentioned that the tip is not included in the allowance when I checked in, I cannot remember such clarification. Therefore, I have two suggestions:1. The reception should provide clearer explanations of the breakfast policy, possibly by providing printed materials during check-in, as it differs significantly from other hotels.2.In addition to necessary paperwork, further training may be needed for the front desk staff.I hope my feedback is constructive. I still have hopes for the hotel's improvement in the future

Everything was amazing, beds comfy, rooms clean, atmosphere is ambient. Few blocks to the lake, steps to Michigan Ave. Lots to explore! Restaurant on lower level was good as well.

The Whitehall is decent, but somewhat underwhelming for a “four star” hotel. The lobby is very small and the 2 elevators are among the smallest I’ve seen in a hotel, especially given its size. There are minor issues such as scuffed elevator panels that detract from the experience. The room was well sized and a mix of old and new. The beds looked modern and the bathroom was moderately elegant. The TV is very old and froze at least once. There is no master switch for the room lights, and lamps must be turned on individually. The real annoyance was the lack of outlets near the bed.I will say the front desk staff was very kind to us. The location is good. Considering this was one of the cheapest hotels we could find in the area the value was great. I think with a few minor improvements this hotel could be outstanding.
