Great atmosphere, attentive staff, food was good and reasonably priced. Pictured is the mini char siu chicken bowl and chicken ramen (I don't recall the menu name).

Very chill, casual ramen spot. The service was pretty good. Know that they are a bit small, so I'd recommend getting in there early for dinner! We tried 2 ramen types: the Goku Tonkotsu and Goku Miso. Both were great, but I liked the Miso broth slightly better. I'm looking forward to going back and trying their appetizers as well!

I have eaten here twice and will continue to do so more often after this last experience. Server was really attentive and kind, service was swift, and food was spectacular. Probably the best ramen you’ll find in Chicago. Definitely a hidden gem.

I’m amazed this restaurant thought it was okay to send out for delivery. If you can’t tell, these are brussel sprouts. And yes they were absolutely disgusting. Super bitter and basically inedible. Pretty disappointing.

Best bowl of ramen in the city. High praise but well deserved. They hit every detail. Thanks for sharing your talents with the City of Chicago.

Karaage was great.Tonkatsu ramen was good. Noodles were a little tough. We did not dig the Shoyu ramen. Something was barnyard smelly about it.

Love this spot! It is small and gets very busy, but it is so dear! The ramen is the best you can find on the north side of the city. Just awesome. Classic, but every piece is perfectly crafted, from the ajitama egg to the best darn charsiu pork belly around. Service is excellent. Everyone who works there is kind and willing to help. They recently accommodated my young kid, who just wanted to share a ramen with me, and also provided my dad with plenty of hot water refills for his tea. They are busy but attentive! And, of course, the restaurant is just beautiful. The woodwork is simple but inviting and cozy. Just love this place!
Very nice experience. The gyoza was very well done. Pan-fried on the bottom and steamed on top. The spicy broth was delicious. I added roasted garlic into my ramen, which is always a good choice. If you have not gone before, do not have more than 2 people in your group, including yourself. Worth checking out.Parking: Street parking. First come, first served.

This ramen was DELICIOUS—the pork belly just melts in your mouth and is so flavorful. We were really happy with what we got, including the pork belly buns, which also melt away in your mouth. The space is small, so there may be a waitlist, but it was worth the wait of about 20 minutes when we went. The interior is comfortable and lovely. The service was friendly and relatively quick. Strongly recommend.

Menya Goku is a really solid ramen spot not only in the neighborhood but in Chicago. I have made my way around a ton of other places in the city and I always fall back on Menya Goku! The food and service is consistent and tasty, and the interior is warm and casual. The pork buns are incredible and the meat is soooo tender. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into the flavors and presentation of each dish. I always get the traditional tonkotsu bowl and it's just so darn good!!!

I left Chicago a year ago and STILL think about this place. I recently went to Japan and this Ramen for me personally is the closest you can get (Tonkotsu specifically) in the states. I consider driving to Chicago for this ramen.. it is that good!!!!
