Nayo’s African cuisine is a gem for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Naija (especially Igbo tribe) home-style dishes in a warm and welcoming setting. The dining experience is awesome, making it a standout destination for those who appreciate the heart and soul that goes into each meal. I left Nayo’s place with a satisfied full stomach, and a new found appreciation for the artistry of Nigerian cuisine.

This was my first time trying Igbo food and it was so flavorful!I had the following dishes:Nkwobi - Deliciously spicy and was a very large serving too. The meat was tender, literally falling off the bone.Unripe Plantain Porridge - Deliciously spicy too and the seasoning brought out perfectly the natural taste of the unripe plantain.Jollof Rice - Arguably one of the best jollof rice I have had from a restaurant in Chicago. It was so rich - you can even tell from the color. Very flavorful.
Excellent food & service!!!! We had the Okra & Ugba Soup with Goat & Fish and Pounded Yam, Egusi Soup with Goat & Fish and Pounded Yam, Unripe Plantain Porridge, and Goat Pepper Soup. EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS! Fish crisp & clean! Best Goat Pepper Soup that I’ve EVER had! Customer service was impeccable! We’ll always come here for Eastern Nigerian Food!Kid-friendliness: Great place for family!
I have been looking for a nice place to buy Nigerian food since I got to Chicago. I had abacha and it was so good. The bitter leaf soup was delicious. I hope they maintain their standard because I will be back for more.

Popped by on a Friday night - staff are busy in the kitchen, so ring the doorbell to get in. Got the jollof rice ($20) and had the option to get a piece of fish or chicken with it (we went with one of each). Also got the pepper (goat) soup with white rice ($22), a bit more spicy than the jollof rice. (If you want it with agid/eko, let them know in advance since it is made to order). Bottled water, canned sodas ($2-$3) along with some other beverages are available in the cooler. Decor is still a bit bare bones as they just got into the space. So give them some time on that. Attaching photos of the five page menu.
