Wonderful food, feels like we are back in Tuscany great flavors real home cooking. Wait staff was busy but they handled all of our wishes.
As usual, the food and service were superb. Though we arrived for dinner at 9 pm, when most restaurants are about to close, the restaurant was busy and the staff attentive. Our order—pesto pasta and veal milanaise—was expertly prepared and delicious. The generous portions were reasonably priced and great value for the money. We highly recommend Riccardo's and will return.
Our first visit and we loved it! Great vibe and wonderful food and drinks! Can't wait to come back!
All the apps and entrees were delicious! Drinks were tasty, too! A bit on the pricey side, but everything is these days.
Excellent meal, as always. Brought out of town guests and everyone loved everything. Lamb chops, gf pasta with pesto, veal, etc. it's so solid, consistent and delicious, every single time. But you must make a reservation as Riccardo's is always fully booked. Enjoy and don't miss!
My lamb chops were delicious. The service was attentive. I was very disappointed in the choice of music. Open Table thinks "energetic" is a good thing. IT"S NOT! The music detracted from the Italian ambiance, and that was disappointing.
Great food and cocktails. Excellent server and wonderful Italian ambiance. It's definitely a good to restaurant when my husband and I are in the mood for Italian!
Riccardo Trattoria is a real gem. The atmosphere is warm and unfussy. The staff are attentive without being intrusive, although I saw a couple of them conversing with diners who obviously came there often. If I lived in Chicago, I would, too. The appetizer of stuffed squash blossoms was a yummy surprise. Our salads were deliciously fresh; my arugula was topped with paper-thin Parmesan. My risotto was swimming in truffles, and my husband's entree was a perfect balance of rabbit loin, Prosciutto, and cheese. The wine list also does not disappoint. Watching the wait staff was like seeing a ballet; they maneuvered in the aisles with speed and efficiency. All in all, a delicious, delightful experience.
Always a great meal. Friendly neighborhood atmosphere with attentive service. Excellent value.
Magnificent evening celebrating our 12th anniversary. Great bottle of wine, The squash blossoms and seafood risotto were a great start and the branzino was fantastic! But I must say that the service made the experience stand out. Thank you Ricccardo's !

This was not my first visit to your restaurant but keep coming back. Food is always excellent, great service and it's close to where I live. This is really authentic Italien Cousine and the food justifies the price. Next time I would like to try your place across the street for a pizza. It was my husband's birthday and he was happy as a clam - which was in his dish! So yes - we'll be back for sure.
A proper Italian spot. Must go.

I really wanted to love this place!! It's in our neighborhood and it's always buzzing. However, the food was so bad. No other way to say it. I got the veal piccata and it didn't taste like veal. The lemon sauce almost had an expired taste to it (if that makes sense). The meatballs were more like small sweet swedeish meatballs which was odd at an Italian place. Either way, they lacked flavor and salt. The oligo pasta was meh at best. It wasn't juicy with olive oil sauce loke I was expecting - instead, dry and stiff like it had been sitting out. Waiters were so nice but loved way too fast - they were so, so noisy with stacking up 10 plates at a time. I know how hard the job is but it was very jarring and almost a bit rude bc it was so incredibly loud with plates clashing. The wine was good, but overall the place had something off about it. It didn't feel like traditional home cooked Italian loke the vibe (or menu) it has. I wish I had a better review bc I rarely give negative ones. This was was just that poor, unfortunately. We won't be returning :(
Husband had the chicken parm which he said was 10/10 and the best he’s ever had. I ordered the “branzino fillet piccata” which had some faults to it. But the owner called and made it right
