Wazwan has been on our radar for awhile and we finally got around to trying it out. After we placed our order online it was ready within ~25 minutes give or take (we received a text message when it was ready). I had the THC sando (tandoori fried chicken, gochujang aioli, achara, and brioche bun) while hubby had the chicken boti kabob roll. Some of the reviews mentioned that the THC sando was really spicy but I could barely even notice that it was spicy. The flavor of the THC sando was good but the chicken was on the dry side. However, the chicken in the chicken boti kabob roll was juicy and tender. We also decided to try the chicken tikka masala and saag paneer; both of which came with cumin rice. Both were good but the paneer came in big cubes and tasted slightly sour to me.

As much as I love to support small business.. I probably won't order again from here... I've had Wazwan last week and was so happy with my order and ordered the THC sandwich again and being Indian I can handle spice- but omg, this was another level of spice!! I had to chug down tums, ice cream, cereal with milk and aloe juice anything to cool my stomach. I am disappointed. If you guys can make a consistent tasting THC Sandwich I will come back but I can't after suffering for 4 hours post dinner Morning update: still in a lot of pain, might end up going to my doctors. Giving this place a 1.

I consider myself a food enthusiast... I welcome many cultures into my mouth. I would normally accuse my wife, Katniss, of hosting a more reserved and oppressive appetite, but she has made some large steps forward in one particular category. She has taken to Indian dishes in the last few years as one of her top favorites. I gave this girl her first jalapeño as a junior in college and now we order Indian and she returns multiple times an evening to the spicy okra sautéed with serrano peppers. It's as if there was a crack pipe hidden in there somewhere. I am a worldly and adventurous eater, but I do value variety, whereas she suggests Indian 3x/week. So I find myself using my veto on Indian more than I would like to admit. I love masalas, vindaloos, cauliflower gobi... but I also like Italian beef and buffalo wings. And occasionally when I want to risk the sour stomach, I base my schedule around enjoying a fried chicken sandwich. Let's set the stage for this particular review. I don't want to repeat the obvious... but I will anyways. These are strange times. In these strange times, you need to make a decision about how to conduct yourselves for the good of society and yourself. My wife and I have chosen a balance of a 6-8 person social bubble. This isn't the point though... the point is that in keeping our bubble sacred, we focus our hang outs around one thing: food delivery. On this particular night we are enjoying the company with one particular couple friend (1/3 our bubble). We only really have two goals for the night: (1) human interaction and (2) some good goddamn supper. The four of us are hanging out on this particular Saturday night, drinking some $14 bottles of wine, listening to dua lipa, and researching potential getaway locations ahead of the impending Chicago snowstorm. I'm tasked with finding some bomb a** takeout while the others look at pictures of heated pools online. While the rest of the crew chit chats about vacation and what Suzy said to Stephanie on the zoom happy hour, I black out my surroundings and laser focus on my food delivery apps. What will satisfy the group while still pushing our limit? What will make us remember this meal a month from now? The tension was viscous, but that was probably just me. That's when I came across Wazwan. I recall looking at this place early pandemic days... an Indian fusion that specializes in fried chicken sandwiches. It was always intriguing. For some reason, the stars seemed to align tonight... the group was right. My boy Brent and I liked fried chicken, my wife Katniss liked Indian, and I knew that we had the majority vote regardless of what Brent's wife Felicia thought. Game on! The food was super high quality. The fried chicken sandwiches were great and not too spicy - I liked the spiciest one overall (can't remember the name). The tikka masala was really good too. We also ordered some other chicken in red sauce and none of us could really tell the difference. The main tikka masala was sweetest and probably the best overall. It was really one of the best deliveries I've had in a while and a bonus is I get to claim credit for the choice... but I am confident Katniss, Brent, and Felicia would all echo my review, Chicken sandwiches: 4.9 stars Chicken Tikka Masala: 4.9 stars Expectation of Dining In eventually: 5 stars We are going to Tucson by the way!

This review is to avoid the current takeout option. The food is served out of a back door along with 10 other places. Picking up the food is a nightmare with no parking and a single service window so clogged and crowded with door dashers that social distancing is non-existent. We waited for 30 minutes PAST the stated pickup time before our food finally came. The food was stone cold when we got it. We tried to get in contact with someone at the restaurant while waiting and no one ever picked up. We've gotten takeout a hundred times during quarantine and this without question was the worst experience. I am willing to look past some friction given the covid circumstances, but this was too far.

Went there on a Friday I think. Looking forward to a return trip. The bill was decent. I see why this place has a lot of good reviews.

You can still get food from Wazwanat846 W Superior St.Just go to their website and order delivery or pickup. Zubair’s on to something really great here. Try the THC Sando. Wonderful blend of flavors.

I know the chef and he's a good friend of mine! Been going to his taste menu dinners so OF COURSE Wazwan is delicious as well. The food is legit. Tandoori chicken sandwich and momo is bomb. Love the food and what they stand for. Highly recommended! Can't wait to go back and try out the new stuff!

Picked it up from their delivery location. Fries, and burgers were both on point. It's a little expensive ~$11/burger, but it does fill you up and it's halal which is similar to other spots around chicagoland. I had their fried chicken sandwich with their spicy/tangy orange sauce. Was very solid, I will be coming again, this time with more people.

Wazwan - Chicago lives up to its reputation. We ordered the THC Sando & Wazwanimal sandwiches - they were super flavorful and filing! Cant wait to try out rest of their menu!

Let me start by saying that this is a review from a private catered event hosted by the chef and owner of this restaurant. Photos of food that have been posted may not be currently offered. But maybe in the future, some of you should consider the private event experience. Chef Zubair and his team, my wife and I cannot thank you enough for our incredible night. Not only did you all go above and beyond, you made sure we felt special through every aspect of this day. The team at Wazwam came to our residence to prepare a stunning 5 course meal. They provided a server who helped fill drinks for guests and made sure everyone was always looked after. Before every course, Zubair told a story about the food and how it was prepared along, describing in detail the ingredients. I honestly loved this touch because context has always helped me understand what I am eating and makes it more enjoyable. After each course was completed, the staff cleared the table and prepared for the next one yet did not one bit rush the dinner. They were extremely patient with us throughout the night. We have experienced numerous pre fixe dinners around the world but this intimate at home experience was really special. All of our guests raved about the food and how unique it was. We could not have asked for a better experience. Anyone looking to cater a dinner party or private event should reach out to them. Thank you guys again for making memories for us!

One of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. Delivery was super fast, fries even traveled well, which is rare. Chana masala is excellent, if you like spicy. Very highly recommend.

I watched these guys make my burger with the kind of love SpongeBob had for his krabby patty when he read it a bedtime story and tucked it in under a bed of lettuce with a goodnight kiss. They even gave me a free topo Chico! the patio staff was also very accommodating and considerate!

This used to be our favorite chicken sandwich but tonight was very disappointing. We ordered two THC sandwiches and each only came with one piece of chicken. It used to come with two pieces of chicken and even has two pieces of chicken in the photo. We ordered through Grub Hub and paid $12 per sandwich. Definitely not worth it.The taste was still very good but for that money I would order from Chick-fil-A or Popeyes instead. Recommend confirming what you are going get before ordering. May try this spot again but with lots of other options it there it will be a while.

Went to Polition Row in January to try out Wazwan. I've been having trouble finding a good halal fried chicken sandwich in Chicago (I also almost always get a burger if I have the option). The sandwich was good, a bit on the pricey side, at first it looks small but the chicken was pretty thick. Fries are just as important as the sandwhich to me. I asked for regular instead of nori, they were pretty salty.
