My kinda dive. About as classic Chicago as it gets. Be prepared to be warmly embraced by the friendliest bartender, the coldest beer, and coziest watering hole in Logan Square.

Stopped by after a performance at the Stan Mansion. Very cozy and friendly. Wished they had some beer on draft but they have an extensive list of bottles and cans, many unique or hard to find. Clean men's room too. Patrons were quiet and respectful of everybody. Will go back.

Although arriving 1h 15m before closing time over severed under the legal limit, this fine establishment served me a healthy dose of spend your money elsewhere. So the OWL took me money and cost me a lifetime of fun and enjoyment.

Depends on what kind of bar you like. But for a tiny, quiet and quaint little neighborhood bar, this place fits that niche. Maria (owner) served us and couldn't have been a better bartender/host/owner. Great for sports games or just a nice place to grab a drink with a buddy and relax! Thanks Maria❤️

The best dive bar in Chicago. When you first walk into Whirlaway you will be transported back to the late 70's, this is intentional. The owner Maria, a local family favorite, has taken extra care to preserve the original refrigeration system, the long solid wood bar, and the feel of sliding into a special place after a long day of work. The Whirlaway is made extra wonderful because Maria is the nicest, kindest, toughest business owner in the USA. We are blessed to have her in our lives and her bar has been a meeting place for us and our friends for over a decade. We have made friends, memories, and hope for many more opportunities in the future. Thanks Maria!

You give them money and they give you cans of beer. It's simple and it works. Great place to get some drinks

Fun little bar. I enjoyed the darker, more in intimate feeling this bar gave was giving. Maria was very friendly and we shared a pleasant conversation. The drinks she made were perfect. I enjoyed my time here. Will come back just to talk to Maria again about hockey!

Great ambiance and vibe. Fun little neighborhood joint. Drink selection was better than expected! Glad they had Bulleit 10 Year. If you're in the northwest side and want a good place to watch the Blackhawks, make sure you stop by.

Got denied here after having two drinks here, I apparently "had to many". So I went to the more appropriate burlington bar down the street and was served without a problem. I know you were just looking out but come on, I can take care of myself. 5/5 either way, bartender will take care of you :)

The kind of dive bar experience you search forever for, honestly. They have soup nights and the bartenders are super nice and bears schedule is on the wall and jukebox was jumping. This place might be the dive blueprint.

The bartender is always fun, and a mini celebrity.
