Our new favorite spot. The food was so good, the restaurant was cozy (even for our little ones) and the service was super friendly. Definitely will be back!

I was blown away at how great this place is. Everything they served came feeling very fresh and excellent in quality, there was nothing negative that could be said about the food if I tried. They even brought out the sushi out on a fancy boat plate. All in all I highly recommend this place and plan on coming back whenever I'm craving good sushi or the other things on the menu.

I recently got delivery from here for the first time, and I don’t think I’ll be doing that again. I ordered a Japanese lunch special that clearly says comes with miso soup and a salad, neither of which were in my bag. The sushi rolls were very small. The Boston roll I received had the smallest amount of shrimp in a roll that I have ever seen (photo included). The nigiri pieces fell apart in their container, they looked like they had been thrown in there and thrown into the bag. It looks like dining in is a better experience, and maybe the Chinese menu is a bit better, but I was very very unimpressed.

Phenomenal experience. Delicious food. Amazing service. The interior is beautifully decorated. My wife and I have had sushi all around Chicago and this one was easily one of the best!! Their honey walnut shrimp was out of this world.

Our favorite takeout spot! The new owners are doing a great job & my husband and I have loved every meal. Sushi is fresh and the rolls are fun. The Chinese food is great & we are particularly fond of the egg rolls. A must-try if you’re in the area!

I ordered the spicy tataki roll and miso soup for pickup. Very friendly staff, clean place, delicious food and cheap prices. Esp compared to Oishi. Come here instead!!

I had such a great experience at this restaurant! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.
The sushi rolls were amazing—both the regular and the deep-fried ones were packed with flavor and had the perfect balance of sauces and textures. I especially liked how the sauces were drizzled just right—not too much, not too little.
The yellow-wrapped sashimi appetizer was not only stunning to look at but also super refreshing. Each piece had a nice mix of tuna, white fish, and avocado, topped with just the right amount of spicy sauce and peanuts. The presentation with the flower and shredded daikon in the center was a nice touch.
We also had a stir-fry dish that came with tender beef, onions, and chewy rice cakes—it was super savory and comforting, with a great wok-charred flavor.
Overall, the food was top notch, and the atmosphere was clean and relaxing. I’d definitely come back and highly recommend it if you’re craving sushi and Asian fusion dishes!

I so wanted to love this place. When they first opened, they had some kinks to iron out, like slow service, but the food was great and gave me hope that Ginger Wasabi would be my new favorite since Wasabi from Downers Grove closed down their CH location. Well, went back today for dinner. The place was hopping - the dining room was full. Waitstaff came quickly, got my order, and brought my hot sour soup. Sadly, the receipe changed! It was more salt than sour. I was asked by 3 waitstaff if someone took my order.....then I waited and waited and waited some more for the entree.....40 minutes later, my stir fry came and there was so much oil, every noodle was excessively slippery -- slippier than a banana peel.....on the plus side, the steak was tender. But, the worst part is I felt guilty for eating it despite my 40 min wait. The table next to me had a family of 6 who were seated way ahead of me and were still waiting on 2 additional dishes for the table. Those who received their dishes were done with their meal! It seemed as though the kitchen forgot to make their dishes! The waitstaff tried to rectify the issue by bringing the elderly couple more beer and edamame. Finally, they comped the meal and by the time I was leaving, they received their main entree. The waitstaff tried their best but how does this even happen? Well, sadly, Ginger Wasabi has fallen off my faves list....despite being so convenient. Food quality is down and they have a few more kinks to iron out. Maybe I will see you in 2026, if you are still here.
