Chef de Cuisine Terry Kenney cross contaminates food. He has multiple open wounds, sores, burns along his forearms and hands that he keeps uncovered whilst serving and preparing food without gloves of any sort. His barehands, that aren't washed touch fish, beef, pork, chicken, dairy, veggies, and other proteins, one right after the other without hesitation. He's the only member of the kitchen staff that practices this disgusting and unhealthy practice. I have mentioned this to Terry as being an unhealthy and illegal practice, but he has refused to comply with health department regulations. The owner, Dagan was also notified of said practice. And has failed to enforce better workmanship out of his head chef. At any point time anybody that attends this dining establishment may simply walk up to the window and observe Chef Kenney sticking his bare fingers and hands into the different foods during preparation for service and/or during service. The health department has been called and made aware of Chef Kenney's practices as well. 0/10 do not recommend eating here until Chef Kenney has either been removed from his post or been made to wear gloves like the rest of us do and have.

Came here with my girlfriend and everyone stared. Waited at the door for seems like 5-10mins no one came. Dirty tables. The workers were sitting at the bar watching TV. We left. Is the food good? Don’t ask me they simply ignore their customers. I’m not a picky person but there should’ve been more respect especially for running a restaurant.

Save your time, money, and most importantly palette by not going to R bar. Worst food in Decatur after McDonald's. Lobster bisk tasted like salt brine with tomato paste and only 2 bites of Lobster in the $12 bowl. Lobster mac and cheese comes covered in pesto and gues what, absolutely no Lobster in the $18 side bowl of Lobster mac and cheese. Side order of asparagus tasted burnt and like it was fried and steamed in too hot of oil. If anything, just get drinks, those were surprisingly good, but not worth the price.

Got to eat here a second time, and it was just as amazing as the first time. Had the mushroom toast appetizer again, and it's phenomenal (see picture). Took the owner's suggestion for my entree (miso glazed/infused Cod), and it was excellent. Definitely glad to take his recommendation..... Don't want to miss out on something really special! Next time we've got to stop by for brunch!!

The place was booked, so we sat at the beautiful bar, thanks to our bartender / Server Zack....we enjoyed our food. our two(2) appetizer items were beautifully prepared: Brussel Sprouts with maple syrup glazed bacon chunks and the Deviled Eggs with blue crab, aji amarillo, toasted benne seed furikake. Quenching our thirst with a Draft (adult) beverage: Modelo.

I am so excited to have this restaurant in Decatur! The food is like nothing else you will experience in town. This will always be my first choice destination for a meal. The attention to detail is second to none. You need a reservation for dinner because the space is small. Delicious Food... Great Bar... Fabulous Service

We visited on the first night Under new ownership. Our service was impeccable. The food was good but it wasn't great. My $39 ala Carte ribeye was not tender but the flavor was delicious and cooked to my liking. Scallop appetizer and lobster Mac were a bit fishy tasting. Over all, the flavor of the entrees were very good. And while we appreciate smaller portions, it may have been over priced. Decor and atmosphere were a 5 out of 5.

This place felt like I ducked into a cafe' on 5th Ave or Michigan Ave in Chicago. The very crisp, chic and extremely classy decor was breathtaking as I escaped into excitement of new dining experience. The very attentive but not overwhelming intimate staff made me feel like it was my birthday after a taxing workday. The menu was creatively organic with unique but complimenting layered flavors that made it nearly impossible to narrow my selection down to just one entree. I orginally stopped in to treat myself to a great steak and chilled bourbon. I was not disappointed but actually spoiled by the tender explosions of delicious perfectly cooked filet seasoned with balanced between garlic herb butter and simply salt. It was paired with a cheesing green onion starch enhancing the savory godliness that melts in your mouth. I was surprised how a mere suggestion to swap out my unfavorable vegetable for a cup of soup (hoping to warm my insides up, considering I had been out in the damp elements all day), was reply by a simple done..... can I get you anything else?. I been known to be a chef's worst nightmare with very small and limited list of foods that I can digest or desired to eat. This was played down leaving me feeling like it was their pleasure rather than the usual sense that I was insulting or inconveniencing the chef as they normally return to my table, attempting to defer my request with an unjustified ridiculous upcharge at past restaurants. I quickly relaxed as I enjoy the tranquility of the elegant jazz playlist of soft no intrusive white noise that allow diners to hold soft private conversations without struggling to hear or be heard. I was intriguing when noticed the vacant piano tucked in the corner by the front window. The memories of past vacation celebrations flooded my thoughts as made a mental note to return once life performance return. The humble chef came out to thank me personally for the compliments sent back to the kitchen. I was thrilled that he engaged in a very pleasant inviting conversation that made me forget I walked in to dine alone. The professional staff working the dining room floor was the cherry on my dining retreat. They were not only delightful young adults but knowledgeable and insightful beyond their age that only years of experience can muster to such perfection.Their personalities shined past their efficiency which seemed so effortless as I absorbed their energy bringing me back to life erasing my 10hrs of manual labor. This place is a hidden big city dining experience that has brought the elegance equivalent in a comparable caliber to a scaled down Ruth's Chris to our decaying community. THANK YOU!!!!!!

Food was amazing. Service was spectacular. Prices were a little high for what it was, but would still return for a special occasion.

Pleasant service. Food and drinks were good but served the after dinner drink (scotch) in an odd glass. Productive criticism because I really liked the staff...
