I usually go to Carson's for the ribs, but yesterday, had a NY strip steak and it was phenomenal. I took that advice of our waiter and had it with the char crust. Get it and you won't be disappointed. I paired it with a simple baked potato. Other people in our group got barbeque salmon, barbeque chicken and pulled pork sandwich and the food was terrific.
Prime rib sandwich and bbq pork chop were excellent along with the wedge salad. Service by Scott was very attentive, friendly and helpful.
Everything was wonderful especially our server! Ribs were meaty, pork sandwich was tasty, but hamburger was a little salty.
Great food and great service by Dino. Loved the cornbread and prime roast beef sandwich. Wife enjoyed cedar plank salmon and our guests enjoyed the pork chop.
We hadn't been at Carson's for years. It was a pleasant surprise that it was as good now as it was then. The server was wonderful and attentive. It was a bit pricey though!
My wife has been bragging about eating at Carson's in Glen Ellyn years ago and we were looking forward a similar experience, but that is not what we received. The Caesar salad was literally nothing like its predecessor. That could be understandable given the passage of time, but for a restaurant that ballyhoos its use of "family recipes," this seems disingenuous. The ribs were dry as dust and barely edible. The potatoes au gratin were so salty they were barely edible, as well. The filet was ordered at least in part because it would be served with Bernaise butter, and rather than deliver the news that there WAS no Bernaise butter in time to order something else, I had eaten half of my steak before my server happened to mention it. The wine I ordered to accompany said steak wasn't delivered until I was about to eat the last bite and I refused it. The French onion soup contained very few onions and was largely chopped (?) pumpernickle (oddly) bread. Our server was rarely evident, didn't know her menu, and provided disjointed and, although cheerful, generally poor service. All in all, we were very disappointed in the entire experience and will not be returning.
We sat in the bar area in a booth. We were totally ignored by our overwhelmed waitress. It took her over 10 minutes to come to our table. When she finally showed up, she took our drink order and then disappeared. Only ordered a Diet Coke and we were sitting in the bar area. Another 10 minutes. We finally ordered. My wife ordered a Cobb salad. Which was fine. I ordered the bbq brisket sandwich. Very dry, so I asked the waitress for some bbq sauce. She brings A1, really! So then i needed to wait for her to bring bbq sauce. As I tried to eat the baked potato. It was still raw. I asked the waitress for another one. She hastily brought another one. Do you think she asked if this one was ok. Of course Not! Same issue. Finally asked for the manager. Very nice and apologetic. Turns out all of the potatoes were not cooked. This waitress was not observant and proactive. At this point we wanted the check. What started as a quick bite at a local restaurant turned into an 1.5 hour stressful encounter.
The food and service was absolutely incredible tonight. We really enjoyed our evening. We will definitely be back!
Very consistent and always great service!

Still nice but way more expensive and not enough personal attention that used to make this such a special place. Other than that, the place is packed and the food, service, and atmosphere were good. Drinks were spot on. It is very loud and that was an issue with our conversation. All in all, still doing a decent version of what they were at one time.
We used to go to the one on Ridge in Chicago in the 70’s - 90’s. That’s the one that set the standard for my family so maybe I’m jaded.

David provided excellent service and John was nice enough to get us in without a reservation. Make a reservation and get the ribeye.

The salad we ordered never came out and our server didn't check with us until our entrees were on the table. Otherwise service was fine.
We had a great time at dinner. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was delivered quickly and was delicious. Our salmon was a bit undercooked but the staff fixed the issue very quickly. One person in out party was celebrating a birthday and they provided a lovely dessert for no charge. We will be back and will recommend to others.
