I come in three days a week before class. Every one there is always smiling and providing the best customer service possible. Their drinks are unique and very delicious. I highly recommend anyone stopping in for a good morning cup to brighten their day.

This place is a hidden gem - at least for me! I have typically visited ‘other’ coffee shops in my immediate area - of which there are a TON since we live on a university campus. Everyone always talks about how great Backlot is, and 3 drinks are pretty much always mentioned - the lavender latte with oat milk, the oatmeal cookie latte, and the chai latte! Located right in the heart of downtown Evanston, Backlot is a super convenient and delicious place to stop for a coffee and/or snack. While I didn't indulge in any of the food; the packed pastry case was full of sweet and savory treats that looked amazing. I went with a standard hot black coffee. Is was very smooth and wasn't served scauldingly hot. They currently have some picnic benches outside if you can handle the cold!
