Food was average. Told server we were celebrating my daughter’s 18th birthday and were greeted with a lukewarm HBD. No birthday dessert or anything.

Came about 20-minutes before close and enjoyed our complimentary drinks (we opted for beers) as we were staying at The DeSoto House Hotel. Pictured here is Bent River Brewing Co's DeSoto Lager (salt and lime - delicious) and Hernando's Ale enjoyed at the bar. Loved the wooden structures throughout the tavern and appreciated the friendly bar service. Also added a couple photos of the front entrance another day during daylight.

Stopped in for a drink. Can't remember what the gal's name was that served us. She was great. The cocktails were tasty. The beer cold.

Hostess was not friendly and seemed perturbed we were there to dine. Got our entrees before we got our soups. Forgot butter for roll. Waitress was pleasant and probably had too many tables.

I had the bbq pork sandwich on a pretzel bun. The pork was tasty, however there was only a tiny bit of bbq sauce. The bottom bun was so wet it was not edible. I tried the garlic fries that was suggested by another review.. it was just regular fries with garlic salt on them. Great house wine. The chili was outstanding. The staff and service was wonderful.
Less-than-friendly waitress. Wasn't attentive. Host was nice. White chicken chili was delicious. Definitely a little too dark on there. Dim lighting with dark green and brown furniture/walls.

My wife and I have eaten here many times over the years. Unfortunately, our most recent visit (12/27/2023) was somewhat disappointing. The host (older fella) falls short of being a “gentleman”. He honestly needs to find a different job. He recommended the VFW as a place to wait, to the young family making a reservation ahead of us.Service was a mix. Our waitress was scarce but I give kudos to a gentlemen wearing an apron who noticed we looked like we needed something and left his post to come ask ??. Both my wife and I fell ill minutes after our meal - may have just have been a coincidence. We will try them again next year ??.Wheelchair accessibility: Limited seating space for wheelchairs.60% is beyond steps.
