My wife and I had lunch at Grandpa John's Nauvoo Cafe the last time we visited Nauvoo, Illinois. Not this time, however. Because of the COVID pandemic, Grandpa John's is closed and won't reopen until November 1. We live in Nauvoo and we often eat at Grandpa Johns. We usually eat from the buffet and always love their choices. My personal favorites are the meatloaf and the ribs. It is only open for breakfast and lunch and is closed for the winter months.

Chose the buffet - you chose 1 meat, and other choices (but limited). the meat was either beef (4 very thin small pieces) or barbeque ribs; We had the beef as figured it wouldn't be spicy, but some sort of spice on the top that was too spicy - the rest of the buffet wasn't memorable - but the slice of bread offered, was homemade & good.
