When we first arrived, we were seated in the back room, which was stark, nothing on the walls but gray paint, and not very enticing to sit for an expensive dinner. When i requested to move to the main dining room, the maitre d first said "no" then changed his mind. With respect to the food, we had never been to a Shabu Shabu hot pot cooking restaurant before, and could have used a little more guidance on how to cook the food, and the manner in which it was served. We ordered appetizers, but the waiter forgot to place them as an order, and simply brought out our main course, so we then asked to cancel the appetizers, which was just as well, because we saved $30.00 off the bill. The food in my opinion was WAY overpriced for what was offered. The Wagyu beef was good but the portion was tiny. The other steak & pork items tasted good when we smothered the food in the dipping sauces. I might try the place one more time if the prices weren't so steep.

We went here for my boyfriend's birthday dinner and we couldn't have had a better experience. It was our first time doing hot pot and our server Jordan explained everything super well and made really good recommendations on what to order. The food, atmosphere, and service were fantastic! We will 100% be back for more.

I want to give this place 10 stars. Went for my birthday and was not disappointed by any means! Our server Jordan was AMAZING! Very attentive, explained everything very well and made our first experience absolutely wonderful! The food was great, got a TON of food that was all delicious. Totally recommend the King's Feast if you go with a partner/parent/friend/ if there are 2 people in your party. Best Birthday Dinner I have had in my 27 years and I would definitely go back again. Highly recommend you save room for dessert as well! Please, Please, PLEASE go and try hot pot! RUN don't walk to get you some hot pot!

I can't say enough good things about my experience here. Our waitress Jordan explained everything very well, which helped as it was our first time in. The food was fantastic as well and a great deal for the money. Even got a free dessert for my boyfriend's birthday. Will 100% be back!

KSS is always outstanding quality food. Our server Brody is so helpful in making the experience the best. Drinks are great. Always very attentive. If you have never tried KSS or the Shabu experience, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot!

Super clean, high quality ingredients, and very friendly staff to help you. Not a quick dinner spot but as the broth cooks it becomes so delicious.

Menu is super healthy and straightforward. Each meal comes with spices, rice or noodles, and bowl of veggies. We went with the sea food combo. It was one of a kind hot pot experiences and I highly recommend it for any occasion.

Fun experience. It's cook yourself. Brody was a great waiter. This was our first time and he helped us through the whole process.

Japanese Fondue anyone? King Shabu Shabu embraces a cooking style that transcends many cultures. It is similar to Fondue vigneronne or Fondue chinoise which meat and vegetables are prepared in boiling water which eventually turns into broth. We were excited to try the Japanese version and decided to go before a show. The restaurant has a has a modern fusion style decor and very friendly staff. We were seated at a small table for two which was perfect for a little intimacy given the open space design concept. We selected pork shoulder and chicken entrees which comes with seasonal vegetables, rice, noodles and various condiments to make your broth. We had seasonal( broccoli, squash, onions, cabbage) vegetables which we poorly chopped. The meat appealed to eye as served but lacked in taste. The broth was bland even with the spices provided. It was an okay experience but lacks in taste when comparing to other restaurants of this type in the area. If you are new to Fondue, avoid Shabu Shabu(I did not mean to rhyme!) as your first experience. Your better off trying Fondue Stube of Chicago or even the melting pot in Schaumburg!

Terrific service! Brody was super attentive and fun. Andy (owner) made us feel really welcome and he makes a terrific martini. Social distancing and ventilation were excellent ; made us comfortable enough to enjoy our first restaurant meal indoors in ~20 months! We're already planning our next visit to King Shabu Shabu.
