I really wanted like this place and menu looked awesome. We ordered a greek salad, meat skillet, and a kids french toast fingers with sausage. After waiting for 30 minuets for our food, we asked the server to check up on it. After being gone for another five minutes, she came back and told us it would be another 5/10 minutes. Food finally came after 45 minutes. Meat skillet was great, greek salad was solid, but the french toast fingers were actually just cold pieces of regular french toast. They looked like they had been sitting for a while. Serve asks can I get you anything else? We ask for napkins and butter. Wait for another 5 minutes and end up getting our own butter from another table. She finally comes back with no butter or napkins and askes, "do you need anything else?" We remind her of the napkins. At the same time our toddler is eating the sausage and all the sudden was like "mommy icky" . I looked at his sausage and it was raw in the middle! Raw pork :( We asked the server to get the manager. Waited another 10 min, but he never come. Finally i walked over to the manager myself with the raw meat in hand and showed it to him. Instead of apologizing, the manager started yelling at me...really yelling...saying he's busy and i will just need to wait. "So what, the meat is raw. The kitchen can cook it more" REALLY???? Absolutely the worst experience ever. We ended up just walking out while he yelled to us never to come back. Luckily my toddler did not get sick from eating raw pork. Even more appropriate, it looks like this placed closed down...hopefully saving a few food poisoning incidents in the process.

Warning! Restaurant understaffed and food poor quality. My Husband and I stopped in for first time 10 am Sunday morning. No one at the front desk. Restaurant was empty with only 3 tables occupied. My radar signal said not a good sign. Well it was correct, the coffee was disgusting. My husband added cream to his and it curdled on the top. We sent coffee back. Gluten Free pancakes were the worst I've ever tasted. Not edible. My husbands order was edible but cheap ingredients. Trying to support local restaurant but waste of money.

Best part of this breakfast was the coffee. Place was empty & booth seat was covered in crumbs and food on floor. Should've left. The eggs Benedict was drowned in a very poorly done hollandaise that was separating. Tasted like a dirty, greasy grill. A side of 3 very, very thin, day old bacon was $4.49!!! WTF?? Horrible. Won't go back. Too many other great options nearby.

This place is incredible! The menu is huge, there's something for everyone. The pirtions are even Bigger than the menu!!! I always come for brunch and end up having so much i take it home for dinner. Breakfasts are amazing here! I recommend the scramblers and omelets!!!! Oh, and definitely get the pancakes on the side! Fill the whole plate and thick, it's crazy! I love Sweet Basil!

Not very good. The explosion appetizer was over fried & greasy , the egg rolls were falling apart. We tried to order a second appetizer the bacon wrapped shrimp but was told we don't have any. We ordered two entrees and the food lacked flavor very bland tasting. The dining room didn't have a restaurant energy vibe to it. Doubtful that we'll be back.

First of all, any breakfast restaurant in the north shore suburbs that is not jam packed at the prime time of 11:30 on a Sunday is probably an indication that it is not going to be a great experience. Only about 8 tables filled and the overall atmosphere is kind of tired and depressing looking. Split an egg white omelette and hash browns with my daughter. Hash browns were overdone and the cheese on the omelette tasted like it was dairy free even though not stated on the menu. Surprised that there are multiple locations for this restaurant.

Great place to eat! Very nice inside. The menu is big with great food options. The skillets are very filling and it comes with 2 eggs plus huge pancakes the size of the equator ?

We had breakfast at Sweet Basil for the first time this morning. Bright welcoming decor, extensive menu, outstanding service. I had the pancake combo. My poached eggs were prepared perfectly, served nice and hot, pancakes fluffy with heated syrup and two slabs of ham off the bone. My husband was very pleased with his ham and eggs especially because the hash browns were prepared just as he requested, which has rarely happened elsewhere. Portions were gigantic, service excellent. This will be our our preferred breakfast restaurant. We were so pleased that we will try them for dinner.

My husband and I stopped for lunch but ended up having a late breakfast. The menu was expansive and had some great options. It's typical of a cafe plus some things a little harder to find such as a Horseshoe sandwich and Avocado toast. I opted for the eggs Benedict with American fries and my husband had scrambled eggs, hash browns bacon and toast. His came out hot and as ordered (eggs dry and bacon crisp). Mine came out as ordered too. The American fries were delicious, but were deep fried and not pan fried...minor detail but was looking forward to the latter. And the only reason they got 4*s instead of 5 is the Canadian bacon on my Benedict was 3 slices of thinly sliced ham. I understand if they ran out (we were the only customers in the place) but ham off the bone would have been a better substitution. The Hollandaise sauce was good and not overly tart or salty. The service was excellent, food was hot and timely. We will definitely return and try some lunch items. I hope they pick up business as I'd hate to see us lose another restaurant from the pandemic.

My family stopped in for brunch in July 2021, and our meal was way overpriced for its quality. The crepes were thick and bland, and a side of bacon (4 pieces) cost over $4.00. There are much better breakfast places in Lincolnshire.

I would give it zero stars. The place was empty on 9 am Saturday. I wanted to order eggs benedicts but I preffered pancakes on the side instead of hash browns or fries-it was not allowed. I was not even allowed to pay extra. This is always my order for breakfast and it was never a problem at different places. We decided to leave. Since we ordered coffee and it was delivered to our table- we were charged for it, even though I did didn't even drink mine. Unbelievable. If you care about customer service, you would strive to satisfy a customer. I do not recomend going there at all!

I usually do not give such low reviews but if I could rate this place a -1 I would. My parents and I went out mid day and we walked in and NO ONE was there aside from staff which was great as we got seated right away. We waited for a server for 20 minutes before asking the manager for some coffee and a waitress. We gave our order and she came back twice to check which was fine. All orders came out wrong and the food tasted really bad. Aside from this the worst part of this was that the manager and waitress got into a verbal altercation and started screaming at each other. Please please please do NOT come here for food as it's truly bad and very unprofessional.

I had the French dip, to me the meat was not cut thin enough, the roll wasn't really a French role. Added pickles to the dish, had I known would have made sure they were left off. We also had breakfast, two eggs bacon and two of the largest pancakes I've seen. The breakfast was enjoyable. Our server was great.
