I’ve been to Rockford 3 times on the last 6 weeks and dined here twice. It is above and beyond anything else in Rockford. I was homestead surprised how good it was from the device to the food. First it’s in an area with several restaurants. I was staying at the Embassy suites which is just across the River maybe a mile or a mile and a half away. I took an Uber just in case. Both times I sat at the bar. One time the restaurant wasn’t busy at all the second time was a a decent amount of people. Let’s start with the cocktails. Professional bartender making well designed drinks. Taste, presentation, attention to detail were all there. Between the 2 visits I had the chicken and dumplings and tuna crudo starters. Both very good. Preferred the crudo just because it was a little bit lighter. The first visit I had the pork chop. It was some of the last ones before being taken off the menu. Tender, juicy, apple cider based sauce. Really good. The only real comment is the portion was a bit large for the plate. It was hard to cut and not slosh the sauce around onto the counter. And it would have been a bonus to have a place mat as the plate would slide on the counter. Minor details. The 2nd main course was the hot chicken. I normally wouldn’t order chicken at a restaurant but I was between the hanger steak and hot chicken and the bartender fully endorsed the chicken. Right choice. Incredibly tender and juicy. Skin could have been a little crispier. It came with a hoe cake and collard greens. Excellent dish. I had wines by the glass both times. About 4 options each for both white and red. I haven’t had dessert either time, 2 full from everything else. However, there boubon selection is pretty impressive. Next visit to Rockford this is on the list one night for sure.

The food here is excellent! My wife and I shared two small plates, chicken dumplings and duck nachos. We really enjoyed both. They were unusual and tasty. Then we each had our own dessert. I had the chambord crepes and my wife had the rhubarb & vanilla panna cotta. Put together, these small plates and desserts made a very satisfying meal.

We used Abreo for our wedding caterer at The Standard and we could not be more pleased with the entire process! The food at the tasting was phenomenal and was even better at the wedding. Our guests raved about it for weeks! Karen was so kind, easy, and accommodating- making the entire process so enjoyable. We do not live in the area, but we cannot wait to make a trip out just to eat at Abreo again. If you use them for catering, you will not be disappointed!!

Went for a relaxing dinner Friday evening. Ordered appetizers, 2 halibut dinners ($43 ea) and drinks. The mixed drink was not made well so we requested to remove from bill and ordered a glass of wine. The server (Patricia) made a big issue about it and openly chastised us about it. And instead of saying i understand you're not liking this, may I get you something else She was rude, unprofessional and not customer friendly! We ended up boxing up the dinners and leaving. That was a horrible dining experience! She's unfit to be a food server and should be ashamed of the bad experience she initiated. Abreo lost some good customers! We'll be sure to share this bad experience with other acquaintances.
Abero's owner, Karen was very disrespectful and rude at a wedding we recently attended to not only servers, but guests as well. I would not recommend abero to anyone. It is also very over priced.

I would NOT recommended Abero's catering to anyone! The staff are very unprofessional by not serving similar size portions..one of our drinks was half the size of another but the same price. The service was very slow and they were very difficult people to work with. We learned a week before our wedding that we were unable to switch from open bar to cash bar so we ended up paying thousands extra to ensure the bar could stay open otherwise there was NOTHING for anyone to drink. They are very overpriced for the service.

I love Abreo. The food is outstanding. Specials are fresh and innovative and standards are reliably fantastic. I love the patio and appreciate the creative cocktails. Servers and staff are lovely and treat you like a valued guest. Don’t overlook the Hot Chicken, it’s ridiculously delicious.
