Had the $26 a person buffet for Thanksgiving. Awful, everything. Basically a turkey roll. Not real turkey , biscuits that were made from bisquick literally. Stuffing that did not look like stuffing. Pumpkin pie had no flavor. Biggest waste of $107 out of my mother?s pocket.

Sat at the bar. Like the decor. Got the steak and it wasn't that bad! I did not have high expectations but the staff was friendly and steak was delicious! I will be back!

Made you feel like part of the family the moment we walked in. The owner Jim checked on us a couple time during the meal to make sure everything met our standards. The calamari was wonderful!

Great food and great service. Steak was delicious along with our other meals! Can't beat the Mai Tais either!

This is an occasional spot for me. Not part of my normal rotation, but I may have to reconsider. Pros: -This place is local, and its reasonably good. That raises the stock a little. I was immediately greeted and promptly seated. Probably one of the warmer greetings I've seen in recent memory. -Huge menu. From steaks to oysters. If you can't find something you'd enjoy on this menu (at least on paper), something is wrong with you -Nice enough atmosphere. Not too loud. You could easily bring a date here. -Serving speeds met expectations. -The manager Tina. At time of review, talk about a person that really went the extra mile to make people feel welcome. This wasn't just partial to myself and my friend. She was taking time to speak directly to numerous customers. It really made a positive impression. She definitely takes pride in her role. Easily can be mistaken for a hostess at first glance lol, but she really does give it the extra effort. Cons: -Huge menu. Almost too large. You can almost use it as a legitimate weapon (As in club somebody with it). I'm of the Gordon Ramsay mentality that prefers smaller menu in favor of better execution. I didn't see anything wrong with my meal, but it's a risk. I believe Menu size vs quality trade off to be a real thing. -Parking lot has seen better days, but that's a nit pick -Booth felt a little tight, but it's a nit pick Bottom line: -This place is on the outer layers of my frequenting range, but Tina's hospitality alone probably earned Stone Eagle a few extra visits. Kudos.

Overpriced and bad food the few times I've been there. Plus, the bartender didn't card me and made my drink wrong. It's just not the place for me although it seems to get a decent amount of business. Outside looks cool.

While I usually have a 4-star visit at Stone Eagle, my visit on Sunday was updated to a 5 thanks to my server Caitlin who made sure everything was perfect. Her recommendations were excellent and she made sure the wonderful leftovers were bagged appropriately and with her dessert recommendation of Twix cheesecake, I have taste treats for home. She was the best server I've encountered at Stone Eagle; please keep her, Jimmy! Thanks also to hostess Tina who also checked that all was perfect. By the way, calamari, steak & potato special with cheesecake to go is highly recommended! Karen Frayne

Food is just ok. Wine order was wrong, steak undercooked, food is bland and overly greasy.

Delicious food, delightful staff and fun atmosphere. We visited for dinner and were greeted at the door and seated by Jimmy. Bartender Nicole asked our names and amazingly addressed us and every other guest by name during the visit. So welcoming and special. Everything we ordered was exceptional - Caesar salad, filet mignon, blackened scallops and risotto. Favorites were homemade baked beans and freshly sliced tomato appetizer. After dinner, Tina took extra time to show us around the oyster bar and Eagle's Nest. Really special night. Can't wait to go back again!

Great food make sure you try their steaks. Delightful atmosphere personal attention by the owner's. Very generous portions, in fact some like the calamari appetizer can feed 5 or more people.

Good food and great portions. You get what you pay for and then some. We will go back sometime. Friendly and accommodating staff.

Amazing customer service, I've never been more happy with my experience. Amazing special that allowed my family to save money, AND gave us a delicious meal. I recommend going to dinner here!

I come here every time I come to Rockford but it never seems that busy. Never had a bad meal, price is great, and they have an awesome selection of food and drinks. Nice relaxed professional atmosphere...no complaints!

Atmosphere, service, food, and value. Best prime rib I have had. Outstanding service. Friendly, quiet surroundings. Plenty of food for the money. Will return.

Absolutely amazing!! Great service, great food, and a lot of history!! Probably one of the coolest places I've sat down to eat. As a guy who drove over the road that's saying something!

My wife and I love coming here. Wait staff is exceptional. Food takes a bit longer than chain resturaunts, but it's worth the little extra to get freshly made food. Steaks are from a local butcher which makes them extraordinary. Save room for the whiskey bread pudding - it's the best dessert in all of Rockford.

Well. Let me explain. The service was great to start with. The draft beer was served in something similar to a wine glass. Not a fan. Plus I ordered a $37 steak and there was a lot of fat . I feel so cheated!.!.!. Live and learn. Not bad but not worth the money to me....

The waiter was great, he was just doing his job and was perfectly fine. We ordered the calamari and it was very rubbery with very little flavor. No idea what sauce was served with it as it wasn't marinara. I ordered the chicken and broccoli Alfredo; the chicken had no flavor and the rest of the pasta was mediocre. All the other food that was ordered was subpar at best and greasy when it shouldn't have been. Can't see us going back again.

Was with a group of 24 folks celebrating a 65th. Wedding anniversary. Excellent food, excellent service, great venue. This is the second time we've visited this restaurant and never been disappointed!

We sat outside in the beautiful patio and had fantastic service. I had the coconut shrimp which was great and my partner had gumbo which he also loved.

My cousin and I visited Stone Eagle Tavern in Rockford Illinois on August 25, 2019. We had such a wonderful time sitting out on the patio catching up and going over old times. Our waitress Moriah was very attentive and very personable we liked her very much. My interaction with the rest of the staff was very pleasant and welcoming! We enjoyed our food and our drinks on that day. It was a beautiful Sunday hanging out with my cousin drinking wine on the patio. Thank you for providing the wonderful atmosphere for us to do that. Ethan was our waiter and gave my group of friends the best service we have ever gotten. Food was 10/10 and the birthday dessert was A1. Ethan needs a raise forsure.

We have stopped many times to have a quick drink and appetizer in their beautiful bar area, but this time we decided to go for the dinner. Nick, our waiter was quite excellent as he was not pushy in any means, but quite pleasant to talk to and always on time with our drinks and our needs. The front staff was also quite kind and professional. Our meals were cooked to perfection with amazing tastes to everything on our plate. And i have to say that whether we are there for a drink or a meal, the owner always stops by and makes sure that you are satisfied. Such a nice touch to any restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Why are eight of your last nine 5?? reviews, all single (1) reviews. Something smells fishy...ð?? This will be my only review because itâ??s obvious someone has to put a stop to this.

Love this place. Wife and I shared 3 deserts and all 3 were very very good. It's a shame it's so far fom our home town of Milan

I find it hard to believe anyone would give a better rating than 1 star. I would give a negative no. if one existed. Terrible x2 food.....service tries but little consolation for the subpar over priced items we were served. Never ended up eating what was ordered. Management REAL helpful w/ status quo lip service. This place is a 1 & DONE. I don't consider myself a food critic, BUT I do know what decent food is, theirs is anything but.

jerry2945

Very verry loud and hard to talk to person you are trying to entertain. The food was ok but expensive.

We were really excited to try this place, but unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. Service was INCREDIBLY slow at 1:30 in the afternoon on a Sunday. Two of three appetizer plates came out dirty and one person in our party did not receive their correct order. The mozzarella sticks were actually really good, as was the Three Pigs sandwich. The Reuben was very dry and lacked flavor. Another at the table ordered the prime rib sandwich and noted that it wasn't very good. Their menu is huge, so they have a lot to offer, but we probably wouldn't go back.

The food was extremely tasty and our waitress, Lindsay, did a wonderful job. We had a wonderful evening. It you're new to the area give them a try. you won't regret it.

Went there early evening for dinner. Waitress came to our table and set down a plate with food on it. She took our drink order and we told her we didn't order this food. Finally, she said it was the dinner special. We ordered an app and we waited a long time for it to come out(restaurant wasn't very busy). Drinks needed to be refilled but waitress wasn't around. Another waitress ended up refilling our drinks. Our waitress seemed to forget us. Computers went down and they had to handwrite credit card slips. Hostess was very apologetic that the waitress was taking so long. It took 20 minutes to get check. Calamari 5 stars Steaks 5 stars Service 2 stars

Went for lunch with several family members and I will say our waitress was friendly, helpful and not at all responsible for the terrible lunch. After ordering, we waited what seemed like an hour for our food. My daughter ordered a sandwich and they delivered the wrong item, and then after an extensive time, finally got it right. My wifeâ??s drink seemed fine at first, then she noticed some strange item in the bottom of the glass. They took it back and then did not bring her a new drink, and did not apologize. After we demanded to know what it was we were told casually that it was a washer that apparently fell from the soft drink machine, but no apology. The owner brought us some dessert at no charge as a way of making up for what happened, something we did not particularly want. As my wife was leaving, the owner said he was sorry. My wife said that what was particularly upsetting was seeing other staff mistreat the waitress as if these problems were her fault. The owner apologized repeatedly and my wife said â??if you are truly sorry, you should â??compâ? our mealâ?, and he answered â??where are you from? I might never see you again anywayâ?.

Our experience at Jimmy's was special. This was our first visit. Our service with Jojo was outstanding, the food amazing (I had to try the sandwich recommended by Anthony Bordain...I can see why he loved it), and the owner took the time to talk to us. What a lovely man. In this fast paced, impersonal world, this restaurant is a treasure. We'll be taking our good friends here soon. Next time, I'll have a steak! The sizzling steaks coming out smelled amazing!!! ??

This was our first time at the restaurant and I have nothing but excellent things to say. We were in a group of 10 celebrating a birthday for one of us and deployment to the service for another. The service from Zach, our server, was awesome! He was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to our needs. Tina, the manager, was in just as much as Zach to check on our needs. For no reason at all we were given a complimentary appetizer and a complimentary dessert. The birthday guy had a huge chocolate sundae! The food was outstanding! Everything was done to perfection and arrived to the table hot. It was one of the best dinners and service we've had out in a long time! Thank you Zach and Tina for making our evening special!
