Excellent margaritas, 4 different kinds of salsas brought immediately to the table. Home made guacamole! I had just two tacos n was filled up! Excellent cute little place

Loved this place. Great service, great prices, amazing authentic food. Best Mexican place I've been to in Springfield.

Tasty authentic border cuisine in a modest location, ample portions, good value, family owned and operated. This is a good spot for informal business meetings throughout the day. Lunch is usually busy but other times are quiet.

Service was slightly slow despite the mostly empty spot. Salsas were not as tasty as they appeared, but it was free and the chips were great. That being said, the entrees were very well portioned and quite filling. Great corn tortillas!

Easy 5 star. Best Authentic Mexican I've had in a long time. Looks loke a hole in the wall from the outside, but it was fantastic. Will return every time I get the chance. Hundreds of options. I think 7 different meat choices on each item and 4 salsa choices. Great stuff.

Great food and awesome friendly service. I lived in California all my life and found this place while driving around Springfield Illinois. It was decorated just like a California restaurant. The food did not disappoint. Highly recommend.

It's a small place but cozy. I think it has that old time feel of a small dinner. I loved the menu, lot's to choose from. Next time I go I'm going to try the Beef Tongue

This was "fantastico".. several types of salsa, my beef lenguq (tongue) tacos were out of this world and the steak fajitas were wonderful. This is by far the best Mexican all downstate Illinois

Prices are reasonable. Quick friendly service. I had the Steak Enchiladas with rice and beans. It was good.

Great chips and salsa (four kinds, but you had me at chipotle!) Chicken fajita nachos are huge and absolutely delicious. Big menu--I suppose I will have to go back more than once!

Great place to visit, if you like authentic Mexican dining experience. Not only the interior has been remodeled, with Aztec themed wall background, but also most of the staff is actually Mexican.

Best Mexican in Springfield area (besides the taco truck across from the office)! Guacamole is great. Salsas are flavorful. Everything we've tried is good, except the fish tacos. If you're in the mood for seafood, get the shrimp tacos!

'Hole in the wall' Mexican restaurant that offers amazing authentic Mexican food! Originally from the west coast, I would not have expected to find this in Springfield. High quality ingredients. I always get the fajita quesadillas, which come with chips/salsa, rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream. Portions are very generous, I usually turn the leftovers into a second meal. We are lucky to have this place in Springfield!

Very festive dining room. The portions are large. They serve chips with four types of salsa, but only one with heat. The puercocito was tasty. My wife's tacos were quite good and they have a full range of fillings. I see why it was so crowded.

Food was pretty good, and I hear is authentic but I cannot speak of this. They could more attention to table service.

Really cute place, warm and welcoming. The restaurant is small but nicely decorated and colorful; feels you're having dinner with family. I got the chicken milanesa from their lunch menu and it was yummy.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this is the place. The service is excellent, the atmosphere as good as the food. If u prefer American tacos, they're available as well.

Love the Food and Dinner potions. Always great to have extra to take home. The owner does stop by the table to say “How are you.” Looking forward to trying their 2nd location on Wabash Ave.

Subsequently small restaurant but a strong authentic feel upon entry. Though the offerings are indeed authentic, I was a bit disappointed in the lack of flavor my dish offered. Also, the waitress could have been more welcoming.

The best/ most authentic Mexican restaurant in Springfield. Where else could you get tongue, heart or cactus tacos? Tried the Gordita today and it was tasty. Fish tacos always good too.

We enjoy making many trips to the wide array of Mexican restaurants whenever we travel in order to sample the different kinds of cuisines, flavors and cooks' abilities. We were decidedly pleased at what we found at Taqueria Moroleí³n. My wife had the steak fajitas and I had the shrimp tacos (soft shell corn). Table service was good. We give the food a 10 out of 10.

This place never fails to impress me. We go somewhat often and I get something different each time thinking it might just be ok but no. Even when they're busy, they do it right.

Authentic Mexican food ... everything is delicious. We had the 3 taco dinner every part was great. Chips and salsa was great too. We will be back.

This review saddens me a bit, as I was really looking forward to trying this place out but I was underwhelmed to say the least. Let me start off first by saying, the service was outstanding, everything negative I have to say stems from the food itself. I ordered three corn tortilla street tacos; a pork, a beef and a chorizo with a side of rice mixed with chorizo. All three tacos were greasy, the meat was a bit bland and the four salsas brought to the table were average at best (but I did enjoy the chips). I would go back and eat here again, but now having my expectations tempered, I would expect average instead of the 4.5* that the Yelpers have seem fit to give this restaurant.

Unbelievable. We listened to reviews, and I'm so glad. Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. Chips and salsa are fantastic. I had a mole burrito and a giant margarita. Wow! Friendly, efficient staff, too. Can't wait to return.

I went here for lunch today and I have to say it was delicious! The chips were hot and fresh, there were three Salas's to choose from all of which were good. I got the vegetable fajitas and they were tasty, but a bit on the greasy side which is expected but not wanted. The service was good which is another plus. If you're ever in the area I'd recommend giving this place a try!

We had lunch here, we all had FAJITAS, some of the BEST we have ever had.....there was cheese on top of the chicken, green and red peppers...GREAT IDEA! Playing GREAT MEXICAN MUSIC....LOVED IT!

Sal has created a menu of homemade dishes that are the best I've found in central Illinois. The food is first-rate, fresh and hot. The service is quick and the servers are friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend that you try it once... then you'll know why I always suggest my friends meet me there!

The food was fantastic, very authentic. Being from southern Arizona I know what I'm talking about if you want authentic Mexican food this is what you want. Great food, great prices and portions, very friendly staff.

OUTSTANDING FOOD!!! Absolutely delicious from the first bite to the last. Very nice and personable servers. A place to relax and eat after visiting Lincoln's home and neighboring sites in Springfield, IL.

Awesome food. There was two Caucasian ladies waitressing, one was training the other one and it seemed like they were fighting. But besides that whenever we go there the food is great!

Didn't expect this place to be this good... great service, taste at a fair price. The chips were warm when brought to the table and they offered 4 selections of dipping sauces for the chips, etc (yum). We had chimi-changas (sp.:) and I forgot my delicious shrimp, onion, bell pepper & cheese fold over dish's name but it was great. Now for the warning; don't go here half hungry 'cause they don't skip on calories. My wife and I ate 1/4 of our meal so we have left overs... You've Been Warned ;)

This place is amazing!! Heather was our waitress and she was Superb! We've eaten a lot of Mexican food in our travels and this ranks right up there with one of the best ever! Food and Salsa were so Good! Gonna be a regular stop for us for sure!!

1st time here, heading home from Michigan and looked for a Mexican restaurant in Springfield Illinois. 1 of the best if not the best Mexican restaurant I've been to. 4 different varieties of salsa for your chips and the food was fantastic with large portions. Can easily split a meal and reasonable. Highly recommend it
