Arrived at restaurant to find all dark with sign noting “closed due to staffing”. While that is understandable in the current situation, not advising people with reservations of this is not. A simple email or text would have allowed us time to make alternate plans for the evening.

Wow, haven't been to Emmetts in awhile. in the past I would have rated them 4.5 went for a nice Friday dinner. Service was pretty good... The bartender was doing 2 jobs as he also was our waiter. The hostess left us the nightly special menu went to order off it. NO specials at all why the special menu. poor waiter I heard him tell 3 more tables no specials...salad and soup was served with the entrees I wished they served those give us 10 minutes or so then bring the entrees. Th Cheddar Cheese Soup was warm not hot. Caesar Salad was fresh and inviting.. Roasted Veggie Street Tacos we're good and just the right size. The french fries served as the side were uncooked just a little were not very hot or crisp. The smallest beef filet I ever had with a small undercooked baked potato and 6 rather dead pieces of asparagus was a rather sad entree. It was not busy when we arrived around 5pm. stared to pick up as we left. Service gets a 4+ Food a -2.5

We have visited Emmett's many times. It was sad to see it so empty....Covid has really impacted the restaurant industry. We had a great server, who was also the bartender. Food served promptly and was good.

Food was good but why is the lighting SO BRIGHT? Went there on a Friday evening around 7pm and yeah I get it that it's kind of a family place, but turn down the lighting a bit so we can maybe pretend we're out at a pub instead of feeling like we're at the dentists office. Nice booths and the cheddar ale soup and beer was good.

We had a great experience at Emmett's in Wheaton. Food was excellent. It is a great setting. The only thing I wanted to mention is that you have this great setting but The lighting does little to accentuate and show off such a great setting. The lighting fixtures have different types of lighting (daylight vs interior color temperatures). Overall lighting is too bright. The rooms (dining room and bar) would look much more appealing at a lower light level. Of course these things can be overlooked because the food and service is so good. It's just a shame that with just a little attention to tweaking the lighting good add so much more to the dining experience.

There's a reason this place was dead on a Friday evening at 7pm... there are far superior restaurants in walking distance. What should be a terrific venue has become a complete bore. The service was slow, despite the place being pretty empty but still having plenty of staff. The menu is flat out awful in both variety and execution. No dinner specials, and really nothing but overly battered deep fried offerings and burgers. My $20 fish and chips entree looked like something off the kids menu, basically just a pile of tasteless French fries, a couple of oversized fish sticks, and the most bland coleslaw I've ever tried. This venue is too beautiful for this sort of nonsense. Revamp the menu and find some excitement for what you're offering. Pub food doesn't have to be uninspired. Lighten up on the beer batter, serve a reasonably sized piece of fish, and add some statement sides like mashed peas with mint, herb crusted potato wedges and a flavorful remoulade. Let your chef have a little fun with some inventive specials (or find a new one). And for heavens sake, 86 that awful coleslaw.

No one at my table really enjoyed my food, but wanted to give a shout-out to out server Jack! I’m vegan with a wheat allergy and he was able to ask questions to the kitchen for me and accommodate me by getting some delicious broccolini. We ended up being a table of the 13 by the end so I thought he handled it great with being so unexpectedly big! Food came out fast, so that was a plus. There were some things that weren’t perfect, but it was great service none the less! Don’t think some of us would return because of the lesser quality-for-the-price of the food.

Jack the server was awesome. Very friendly and personable. Speed of food was okay. Unfortunately, our entire table of about 13 all thought the food was very mediocre. I had to send back my sandwich. It looked stale, old, and unappetizing. Fries were stale. Burgers across the board were bland. Could easily get something better at Culver’s. Pretzels were just like plain white bread. Probably won’t come back.

Terrific place to grab a decent meal and watch the game... the walleye bites were very tasty and the new red wine burger was flavorful and a nice change for burger fans. The prime rib was exceptional... perfectly cooked and great accompaniments. Very nice meal to watch the Red Sox crush the Astros!

Sitting outside felt like a balcony in New Orleans. Enjoyed a cold prohibition style beer labeled 1871 and a cocktail. The walleye bites where delicious. First time here and it's going into our rotation.

Not as good as it once was, that's for sure. Understaffed like everyone else, the bartender / waitress was fast efficient and friendly. Great beer selection here. The food for our group of seven was just so-so.

Horrible from the moment we stepped in! First—NOT HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE. This is 2021, ADA was enacted in 1972! Who would even ask?! Had to enter through the back, past the fly invested gag worthy garbage! How demeaning!!! Service was sooo slow and at times not even there. Waitress was busy on phone and manager standing in back talking. Ran out of prime rib, baked potatoes were hard—3 of them. Finally brought alternative potatoes when we were just about finished. Not worth the expense. Better EVERY THING at Outback

When we dined at Emmett's, they were understaffed and our poor server was running in a million different directions. My husband and I ordered the tacos. Mine were veggie and were just okay. When I order veggie tacos, I would expect the roasted vegetables to be noticeable chunks and they weren't. My husband's fish tacos were fine, but not flavorful. The beer selection was great!

The place was very warm. When I asked about the air conditioning, I was told that it's always warm in the summer because it's an old building. Our server was great! The fried potato munchkins appetizer was inedible. The featured drinks very overly sweet and tasted of very little alcohol. My wife enjoyed her salad and sandwich combo. I enjoyed the prime rib special, especially the garlic green beans. The raspberry tiramisu was a generous portion and very good. Overall the place was not busy with many empty tables when compared to the other restaurants along Hale St.
