Waitress was friendly....no complaint there. Food....sorry but I'll just say pretty much terrible. Outside of building....I don't even know what to say about that.

My family visited Smokin Jim’s this week while we were camping at Lake Monroe. My husband & I had the brisket manhattan & the 1/2 rack rib meal. The food & bbq sauces were absolutely delicious - ribs fell right off the bone & the brisket was sooo tender! Our server, April was the sweetest & most genuine lady! She made the whole experience even more amazing for us and our kiddos. Love to see a family-owned business who also employs wonderful people. Thank you!

This was an excellent experience. I had a pulled pork sandwhich with green beans and mac n cheese. This is one of the best mac n cheese sides I’ve had in a while from a BBQ place. The pulled pork was delicious paired with their original house BBQ sauce. The decor and atmosphere feels very homey and funny.

I am not sure what some of the negative reviews were about. I absolutely loved this place. The service was beyond phenomenal. April is a blessing. I had the pulled pork sandwich with sides of onion rings and fried taters. The pork was fantastic. Texture, flavor, perfect amount of Smokey. The sauces were fantastic. The onion rings phenomenal. The fried taters were a bit cold, but still not awful. Topped it off with an amazing home made pie. When I am back in the area, I am stopping by.

When I went into the restraunt I was greeted with smiles and respect by two very young girls. Customer service was excellent. BBQ, both Brisket and pulled pork were really good. Mac and cheese good, baked beans good, coleslaw could use some work. My opinion was it was bland and dry. I know that everyone makes coleslaw different. We will be back. Really loved the atmosphere and the food.

This place may top my worst food ate at a restaurant list. Here are my complaints in order. Outside of the building is looking very rough and unkept. Menu is printed on copy paper then laminated and falling apart. Tea was good. Brisket was dry, cold and not smoked. Baked beans tasted like a canned version. Plain and no flavor. Fried taters were salty and obviously frozen. The 3 BBQ sauces I tired were horrible. My wife and I both did not finish. Spent $40 for 2 people. Portions were small. All of the food including my wifes tasted like it came off of a food truck. Workers were friendly and attentive. At one time I think this could have been a great place looking at all of the reviews but it feels like the owner does not care. Nothing was outstanding. Looking at the new reviews I tend to think its people that have no taste buds or people who are friends with the owners. There is no way this place could get a good review with what we ate.

The staff here is so super friendly that I feel bad writing this.

The food is less than mediocre and tasted like it came straight from a food service truck. It was room temperature. My Sautéed peppers and onions where raw and not cooked. The crackers served with salad were old. My husband's brisket had no smoke line and no marbling. The beans were gray and straight from a can.

I think there is potential here, but they need to ditch their current menu for fresh made food.

The exterior of the building looks like it's falling down but the interior looks recently remodeled. Our service was great. The food however was not. I mentioned to my wife as we were walking in that I didn't smell smoke from the pit. Normally, there's a residual smell when it's not going. But there was no smoke. The brisket looked like it was cooked in a crock pot and the pulled pork looked like it came from the grocery store.

It was a bust! Service was decent, but there's only one bottle of sauce and other tables are waiting to use it. The food had no flavor. The only thing smoking at smokin Jim's is jim smokin whatever he had in the back.... the cook walked in saying don't put our specialty on Facebook it'll be too popular. Sorry but id keep it off Facebook just to avoid a dissatisfied crowd. The brisket Manhattan was shitty little slivers of brisket with shitty brown gravy.
The tenderloin was burnt to a dry crisp.
Dont bother stopping here!
